Radical21:
If they just sell the IP to someone you will get a F2P grindfest... The same as happens right now to Shadowrun online...

Signothorn:
I think it would be better if CCPGames licensed out the IP to a 3rd party like Bioware to make a open world single player game with MP storyteller options.

Arguably still better indefinite torpor (nothing). Then someone else will come along and pull a Blizzard move and create a successful knock-off of the IP before CCP manages to get around to doing something with it and then everyone goes, "OMG, World of Darkness is such a rip-off of World of Vampirecraft!"

Radical21:
I've yet to meet someone who called Warhammer a Warcraft ripoff or called Diablo a Torchlight Ripoff

But anyway I think the scenario you described already happened with the deployment of products such as the Secret World.(even though its more like WoD:The toned-down F2P/P2W edition)

As much as it doesn't pain me to say this: a WoD knockoff made by the community is the only thing that can deliver what we all crave for. I admit there were already projects that failed in trying to do that and projects that don't lift off the ground because  they prioritize single-player content or overly ambitious features early on. Despite all these failings I still think its the only way to get what we want out there because by now its obvious we can't rely on a production company to make it happen.

For the record I don't really care if the new WoD-like multiplayer game comes out in Pixel Art or even Roguelike multiplayer interface: I just want it to be something true to its WoDish style in game-play with accessible interface.

Rick Gentle:
Pixellated World of Darkness...

You know...? I can see it.
