Good spot.  There's been very little new information released about the game.

Quote
Second, “There are things we are doing that will reward players for creating content as it is consumed by other players.” “It’s something that we think can happen not just in the game itself, but [also] on the web, on mobile devices, and things like that. How you as a participant in the World of Darkness universe are creating things that other people are consuming. Whether it’s items in the game, whether it’s stories that they’re reading, tips, and things like that.”

This is really what I've wanted all along.

And the part about PvE not being so strictly combat driven sounded good, too.  And also enemies that cannot be beaten no matter how many friends you bring with you, forcing people to use stealth or social combat, sounds great to me, too.

I just fucking wish they'd hurry up before I die.

Any chance CCP would finish this before Iran completes its nuclear WMD program?  :justabite:

No; CCP is developing it for them and has made it a higher priority.

The player-created content bit sounds to me a lot like what Valve is doing for DOTA2 and Team Fortress 2 - players conceive, design, model, and texture their own items on their own time, then submit them to CCP for approval. If they are approved, then they are put up in their microtransaction store or in-game store, and each time some other player buys that item, the creator gets a tiny share of the profits. It's basically a way for a company to capitalize on the creativeness and technical skill of its community without actually having to hire them.

But this could be a very good thing if they give us tools where content can be created EASILY, and you don't have to have a minor in programming languages or spend months watching tutorials before you can create a painted cube. I still look back on the VTM - Redemption Nod SDK fondly as one of the toolsets I could easily use.

And what's this about a toolset for Bloodlines? I thought all the modders were basically going in blind, before.

I wonder if they'd let people build their own buildings.  There'd be some great ideas, but knowing the crassness of the human mind on the internet, I'd bet at least 50% of them would have phallic motivations involved.

Malkavian made city where everything is seen upside down, or a ranch in the middle of a city...and it has all the amenities as well.

They could let players make their own buildings, if they have the modular and randomized building blocks like we've seen in one of the documentary videos - a mix of architecture-building from the Nod SDK, and painting pre-made textures and facades - but where would they put them? The world would have to be procedurally generated to make room for even a scarce fraction of the number of buildings that would be submitted, and then approved.

There could be room for ONE phallic building. You gots tah have your symbols of male oppression and self-aggrandizement in the dark capitalistic World of Darkness. Somebody out there's gots tah prove that theirs is the biggest.
Just not more than one. That would be excessive, obvious, and stupid. The real contest would be to see which Clan laid claim to it first - the Gangrel, Malkavians, Tremere, or Ventrue.

My money would be on the Tremere.  Ventrue can't really hang priceless works of art or trophies in that kind of building without getting laughed at, Gangrel could pull it off but there best be a garden for that mossy/hairy texture to grow underneath it.  Malkavian would make it TOO clear that it's making the washington monument look like it was made to be a ruler for their new jiazzy building.  But Tremere have the means to make sure their new building has another meaning besides overcompensation on their part.  At least creepy mages seem to like that sort of thing, making things not like what they seem at first glance.

They'd probably turn it into a lode of magical energy or something, and use the chuckle-worthy point to channel magicalness out into space to zap the poor moon up the ass.

And then the full moon ceased to exist.  The lunar charts were swiftly changed, and fortune tellers everywhere were out of a job...possibly horoscope newspapers too.

Werewolves would probably cry too, that is always a delight to any kindred, assuming any can take pics without being slashed to teary eyed little ribbons.

All of a sudden I have this random image of Werewolves climbing that Phallic tower like mini-King Kongs.

Gods this got weird all of a sudden.

The bit about "avoidance" being necessary at times piqued my interest, because that was one of my favorite things about the original EverQuest... there were actually zones in which there were occasionally much much stronger (and aggressive) mobs than those in the rest of the zone, and you always had to be wary not to get in their path. This also gave reason for players to tread back to old zones after out-leveling its prime content, -to go back and get revenge on that big ol' meanie, and perhaps be the hero to all the zone's population.
I'm guessing this hasn't really showed up in any other games since because people complained too much about how "unfair" they thought getting killed by something they couldn't hope to kill for a long time was...

Something tells me CCP would give zero fucks if anyone complained that voluntary content in their game is unfair.  :chinscratch:
