Scripted Chronicles?
« on: November 27, 2011, 02:41:05 PM »
Hi,

does anybody have still some playable, scripted chronicles? I only know these from Maps of the Ages (Tribble's The Prophecy Discovery, Rainmoon's Adventure Chronicle, Rainmoon's Club Abla (which seems to be only an intro of a not finished story?), Rainmoon's Dungeon Golo and Rainmoon's Last Stand) and the english version of Carpatian Chronicles*. Do you know where I can get more? I heared of a chronicle named "Hemlocked"... the original german version of Carpatial Chronicles would be also interesting for comparison... or any other scripted chronicle ^^.

Thank you,
Nea

Hi. I tried to play "New Orleans by night", but it wasn't something like playable chronicle. There was large unpopulated city with graveyard and tunnel filled with motionless crocodiles. Only building I was able to enter was "Burlesque Club". (Installed AOR and MOTA).
What I've done wrong?

Nothing. Multiplayer typically comes with empty sandbox chronicles designed to allow storytellers to modify the levels by adding npcs, loot, and props through the ST controls. With the Age of Redemption mod comes the Age of Redemption chronicle, which is one a very few scripted chronicles available to the multiplayer community. Most mappers back in the day focused on the sandbox element of MP and very few had java programming skills to make a large scripted chronicle work right in multiplayer. At most, maps would be populated with basic pedestrians, lawmen, and a few enemies with some loot, but most of work was intended for storytellers.

Thank you. I see that "Age of Redemption" is made for playing Christof's adventures by multiplyer character, which is great for replaying single-player campaign, but not what I look for.
Can you tell me the names of those few maps, which are more like a 'alternate campaigns' without required ST's supervision? Is it possible to play those 'chronicles' in coop mode by brand new multiplayer characters?

Outside of aor, what the OP [Nea] posted, is pretty much what's out there. I've heard the Italian & German communities are still making scripted chronicles, but that's on the grapevine and I couldn't direct you to something I can't find myself. Not like much of the chronicles would do a whole lot for you if you don't speak Italian or German.

I speak German so if someone knows German scripted chronicles  I would be very interested.
Carpatian Chronicles (which is great, I can recommend it!) supposedly is the English translation of a German chronicle, but I also couldn't find the original.
