Changing a Tome's restrictions?
« on: May 09, 2011, 06:46:16 pm »
Is it possible to change the requirement of Max Humanity of 35, for Hands of Destruction?

Do I need to extract this file (unsure of type) then edit it and put it in a .not file?

Thanks for any tips or links.

Fixed spelling.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

Yes, you need to edit the .not file - it's in Global.not a minus figure there will mean max.

Thanks Paine, I managed to make a new HoDTome.not removed the restriction of Humanity.

Any idea where the individual Spell restrictions are located? I read the book but when Sleeping to upgrade, the discipline Decay still required max Humanity 60, so guess I will need to change each of them.

Thanks.

If youre editing AoR mod go into the AoR.nob and find game.ndd. Open it with notepad or whatever similar text editor you have and look for:

Decay                   DGRP_Thau_HandsOfDestruction    decayIcon               DisciplineDecay                 disciplineCast_fleshScream.WAV  0x28    10      0.0      200.0  0.0     2       250     5       5       5       5       5       2000    2000    2000    1000    1000    4   25  7  -60  -   -

Id try changing the bolded value to - to remove the restriction.

--------------
Edit: I did it myself and Ive found the easiest way to edit the game.ndd or effects.ned in AoR is to go into the AoR folder, create a new misc folder and extract the required files into it. Edit the files the way you want to and when the game is loaded they show up...

Excellent thank you Paine and _Master_ !

Actually started a vanilla game, kept wondering if things I was experiencing were because of AoR or due to not remembering it in the vanilla game. For example, couldn't figure out why Christof could target the Knights of Saint John, before his embrace. It turns out to be part of AoR, though no clue if it's intended or not.

The scary thing about this thread is Paine knows all this stuff from memory alone.
