The only one knowing a lot about vmts is Psycho-A and he hasn't been around for a while.

Taking a break from banging my head against these VMT's til I have an epiphany or some help, going back to the textures til then. should have the walls to the apartment in a bit.

not sure if it uses a different type of light. I remember a spotlight-ish one in L4D2 hammer that interacted with stuff differently than the ambient one.

Being a graphic design guy I always stuck more with textures and importing models to upgrade the world items like vending machines, bathtubs, radios, refrigerators, etc. I'll learn to use this SDK properly eventually though.

This game rocks too hard for there to not be grungy textures in HD, with normal maps if possible.

I'm interested in seeing the end results of this.

the VMT for the carpet is written like this for now
"LightmappedGeneric"
{
$basetexturetransform "center .5 .5 scale 4 4 rotate 0 translate 0 .0"
$bumptransform "center .5 .5 scale 4 4 rotate 0 translate 0 .0"
"$basetexture" "carpet/carpeta"
"$bumpmap" "carpet/carpet_normal"
"$surfaceprop" "carpet"
}

and the normal map VMT like this

"LightmappedGeneric"
{
$basetexturetransform "center .5 .5 scale 4 4 rotate 0 translate 0 .0"
"$basetexture" "carpet/carpet_normal"
"$normalmapalphaenvmapmask" "1"
}

so far this is the only combination I have been able to use that gets bump mapping with no reflections.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Anything that doesn't involve adding reflections.

vertex lit is causing flickering so I switched to lightmap generic and having no flashlight tried using the 38 as one

so close. . .

working, with no reflections but the only way I could light the area up was with my gun.

oddly the light never went away

no bumpmapping

bumpmapping I can only light up with my gun

can anyone help me with this? just looking to add slight depth to things like carpet, gravel, and peeling paint like in the mods I made for L4D2.

the difference is subtle, but worth the effort.

I can't seem to get normal maps working without reflections properly.

In L4D2 and other source games I have worked with Normal maps can be applied without having  the shiny look they all seem to have in this game.

any ideas?

I read icicle's posts on normal maps and still no progress.

maybe something to do with $envmapmask?

Bloodlines Antitribu Mod / Re: Antitribu Mod 1.1 is out!

Does it mean that the mod development is dead? The Sabbat questline was in pre-alpha(at least, there were videos and screens) in 2014-2k15, so, I doubt that it takes them 3-4+ years to finish it.
Unless Mv returns which is unlikely, we will know nothing about Lenusk@'s status nor will she update the mod on Moddb at all. In the end, I think what she wanted in reality was for all of the activity Antitribu was rife with to die down to allow her to focus on other matters. Mv went out of his way to pump up the mod, then left Lenusk@ and I with it after running off elsewhere. I was busy with lots of other things and Lenusk@ was tired of mod celebrity status. The day to day work of maintaining Moddb's most popular mods can get tiring, and for a long time, Antitribu was in the top 5 there.

Maybe some day in the future she will get in touch with Wesp and through him let the community know about updates on the mod. I look forward to it.

Just thought I should mention that if anyone has random crashes, or even crashes on start up, another solution might be to find Large Address Aware or 4GB Patch and use it to increase the Bloodlines executable's memory to using 4GB. Doing such may also boost performance.
