I have no idea. The plate is there on my system...
I did a clean install on another system, using 3 CD retail version + 1.2 official patch instead of a repack I usually use (which is 100% identical to this after installation) and rolled over 9.9+ beta 2. Aaaand... Still not there.

Another, unlikely option if you haven't yet, is to save, quit the game and reload to see if it's there - i know this sounds ridiculous, but the game has bug on the skyline hotel that corrupts objects that can be 'avoided' like that - though that one is more blatantly obvious and random, so i don't expect this to work.

The first time I encountered Skyeline leak I actually saved inside thus making it permanent. Ah, flying chairs and drawers swimming in fishtank. Good times.

No, I've tried just reloading and re-entering the game multiple times. Thankfully I have a habit of making a new save entering a new hub.

The console command worked though.

I think that happened to me in a previous patch or in the CQM once. Not sure what causes it. I've also more recently picked it up, so...

Maybe wesp can give you a command that prints the item location on load of the map or something to check if it didn't fell through the void or isn't even spawned.

If we could see the python code inbuilt into the map and the py file to see if something is obviously wrong too (maps have their own python code and triggers that isn't as obvious as the py files).

BTW another bug with objects i had, that i'm sure can't be fixed, is that the cameras that Imalia gives you, the 3 cameras for her revenge quest can get their count screwed up if you have a full inventory.


If you manage to have a full inventory then*, when she gives her cameras (3) you drop (1) camera. Then you have to use the console to get another 2 to actually complete the quest.

I don't expect this to be fixed because i think the cameras were originally different objects but then were turned in a sort of 'multiobject' (like ammo magazines) and the other two were reused for more quests objects since the game inventory system and number of objects is fixed.

edit: now that i think about it, if there is a way to check the player inventory objects # there might be a way to prevent this situation in dialog, with the player saying something like 'I have to drop some stuff to make space for the cameras, talk to you later' replacing the 'accept/decline quest' dlgs and setting a variable for the next dialog to go direct to the same place (a initial condition, that turns off that variable and jumps to the 'accept / decline' dlg line).

This solution is obviously a hack that will fail if we get a engine rework of the game that expands the inventory.
Basically if we can only check number of objects in inventory, inventory limit check has to be hardcoded, if we can check NoOiI and max number of inventory slots dynamically, it's fine. If either is impossible, oh well, the console savvy gamers will spawn the item after using it (the game won't spawn it if it's already in inventory, so you have to do this on the quest).

*(which is easy, since this is often almost the last quest before endgame because it requires two returns to the warrens if you want her max xp - getting her angry, get the magazine, get her quest, return)

I started a new game and loaded ch_schreckhub map trough the console, yet the plate still wasn't there. Is there a way to check whether my installation is corrupted?

I have no idea. The plate is there on my system...

Maybe it should've been what the Lucky Star Motel became.

The Chateau Hotel would have made no sense where the Luckee Star Motel is right now. But there is this street going up behind the Red Spot into the hills...

So, I vaguely remember having similar glitch seven or eight playthroughs ago due to improper save handling and it messed up all of the item positioning, but this time I've been playing on clean installation and all in one version.

I have a quest log entry telling me to get the plate, I got every item before that, the braid talisman is present, yet when I unlock the vault it's empty.

Is there a command I can use to give myself the plate?
