Maybe they're lending the rights while they focus on Elex 2.

I didn't know there was a remake in the works.  I will look up some information.  Also that website I recommended 'World of Gothic' works.  Just click on the game you want info on and the web page loads just fine.  The site has mods on it too.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention Gothic II is kinda funny, because the world of Gothic is based on a medieval Germanic society, and I don't remember if this happens in the original but the npc's in the second game sound like wiseguy's from Brooklyn, NY.  I find it funny because I live in Brooklyn and grew up around suspicious looking individuals.

I noticed that from looking at videos of the first Gothic. I think it's hilarious how they sound

All the game is missing is a companion voiced by Joe Pesci, replaying the roles he played in Goodfellas, Casino, or My Cousin Vinny.

CAUTIOUS EVERYONE !

But a leak came out saying a remake of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is currently in the works by Bluepoint Studios. Nothing solid though.

That sounds great.  It's too bad Tony Jay (Elder God) has passed.  In the original game he played Mortanius the Necromancer.  But they have to try and contact the original voice actors if they're still alive.  I can't picture anyone else voicing Kain.  Anyway I hope the game is first or third person view open world action rpg like the original.  Also I want to see the fmv's from the original game done as cinematics or cutscenes with modern graphics.

I also hope they stick to the original story, and not try to create a new one like Square Enix tried with the FFVII remake.

Anyway Highwayman whenever you have time I recommend playing the original, and see how Kain's story began and what let him to choose Nosgoth's canon fate.  It is the game that got me into the Legacy of Kain series.  Also if and when you play it, replay the other games in the series, since they make references to the original that might have gone over your head at the time.  Especially Defiance since that game comes full circle and takes place during the events of Blood Omen 1.

Anyway as you can see I am happy but keeping my expectations low.

We might be in luck, Bluepoint Studios has focused a lot of game remasters: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluepoint_Games

And have no fear, Blood Omen is right on queue after BG2. I will also be cautiously optimistic by now. It would be incredible to have a renewed experience with the Legacy of Kain series once again but rumors are rumors after all.

I know it's just a rumor for now but one can dream.  I read in the previous link they made remakes in the past.  I will checkout the link you posted.  As for playing the original Blood Omen take your time.  Also know the fmv's have not aged well graphic wise.  What I mean by that the fmv's look terrible but get the point across.

Anyway take your time and play BG2 there is no rush.:)

Taking a break from BG2 to play this very very very awesome beauty that my boy Talyn recommended

Had a few issues with the story but it offers a FANTASTIC premise for an RPG. Can barely wait to play the whole trilogy.

Here's a tip when dealing with multiple creatures.  When you see a group of them walk towards them step by step.  Eventually one of them will see you and come after you.  Back away and kill the creature away from his buddies.  Then walk step by step until one of the other ones see you.  Walk backwards and kill it away from his compatriots.  Keep doing this until they're all dead.

This is a good tactic early on when a creature or npc can kill you in one or two hits.  Later on you become so strong you can engage the groups and survive.
