Music like Bloodlines, broadcasts like Deb
« on: October 09, 2018, 01:59:31 PM »
I suspect it was done couple of times already, but I didn't want to resurrect old threads. I'm asking you to contribute in this topic with music suggestions, meeting these criteria:

  • instrumental music, similar to Rik Schaffer's soundtrack we hear in L.A. hubs in the background;
  • dark ambient/instrumental trip hop is much appreciated - I'm looking for downtempo, eerie (not creepy) music I can write/work to;
  • if you'd like to recommend something edgy with vocals, i.e. stuff in the vein of Type O Negative or My Dying Bride, feel free to post it as well.

In the same time, I'm looking for old radio broadcasts/current podcasts that deal with supernatural or esoteric stuff, preferably with open line, much like The Deb of Night. So far I only have old Art Bell broadcasts from Coast to Coast, like this:

Or this - terrific interview, by the way:

Sorry for answering this late....

- Instrumental music/Dark Ambient
I cannot not suggest Nox Arcana:

If you're looking for other inspirational music to work with I suggest also those nice soundtracks ;)

Sacred: Gold Edition (great german old school fantasy hack n slash, now the creators lost the license after the sequel didn't met the producers expectations who took it and fucked it up as a series of shitty beat em ups):

Gothic trilogy (another classic german series, an hardcore fantasy RPG fucked up for the same reasons but from their own producers):
Desperados (why my favourite soundtracks are from classic german games fucked up by their producers?  :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: this is instead a strategic western game but its music is beautiful as fuck):

Halloween Music Collection By Midnight Syndicate (not an actual soundtrack but a selection of their best Halloween styled songs):

- Trip Hop
Never heard any song of this genre, now I must know more :P

- Music with vocals
If you are looking music in the same dark vein I have only to say: Gary Emmins. His voice is something unique
If you want also stuff more metal I'll need another topic  :rofl: :rock: but I can start suggesting this:
Just ask the style and genre you need and I'll deliver the best.  :rock:  :rock:  :rock:

- Radio broadcasts
Honestly I only know (except for GTA :P) the ingame heavily satirized chat radio of this game and it's sequel:
And it's a parody of amurica and truckin' life style :P
