There is something about Megan's narrow behavior that constantly ticks me off, despite my earnest efforts to understand her - not once she questions her actions or the course they take, not to mention the possible fallout. Her intelligence is of course not lacking and there is certain charm in that sure, but damn it, the wisdom saves - she fails them each and every time. I sometimes wonder what attracted Adam to her, to me he seems like her polar opposite. I do not have much background info on them so all that I know I base solely on the game - in the prologue you can pick up hints that Adam is not completely on the same train as her, questions her contracts and I bet my head that there would be collision between the two after the convention in Washington.

I understand her mindset, but damn she must have some social penalties or at least some kind of complex in order not to grasp what could happen. I think that she is the only character that I wanted to like, but our stances are totally apart.

They share many similarities with Francis Pritchard, both are asocial narrow specialists, but his life was anything but sheltered and he wasn't considered an inexpendable asset, as a result learnt a thing or two about long-term consequences and the society at its worst, while she didn't. Not to say, he does not have her ambition to blind him nor need for emotional attachment to someone (or something). His interest in his area is mostly intellectual, while she's really nuts about her.

Guess she had unconsciously fallen for Adam Jensen, though initally was only going to use him, for this very reason, he has what she doesn't.

Perhaps it is a stretch, but don't you find similarities between Megan and Dr. Frankenstein in that regard?

Since it's is a classic story, not that surprising. Though, dr. Frankenstein surely lacks her clingy little girl aspect.
It does not seem that Francis is the sort of person who runs after every petticoat or lacks self-control, he wasn't leering at her in the elevator out of nothing, very likely that he was attracted because considers her a spiritual neighbor, and, in a way, cool. It could be argued that he deliberately did this only in order to annoy Adam, but I think there was more to it.

By the way, her animation in the prologue cracks me up, especially idle animation in the first room, it looks exactly like she intended to reconcile with Adam.

There is merit to that "spiritual neighbor" theory alright - their fields of expertise can converge in certain points. However, I would argue that Francis is far more open, socially-adept (albeit only when needed) and interesting as a character and his ability to go along with both Adam and Megan is a proof of that - sure he has some bumps with Adam, but in no way those small detail prevent him from understanding or seeing the point behind Adam's course of action. I would've liked that the game gave a bit more on Pritchard than it did, like a personal quest or some such escapade.

Aside from Bloodlines, the best character development I saw in Shadowrun Dragonfall, where all characters are unique, seemingly an open book, but only later in the game and through their "trust runs" you learn the truth behind their driving ideals or misfortunes - a mechanic also used in part by Bloodlines (Tourette, almost the entire game for Jack and LACroix to name a few).

The very reason I said "spiritual neigbours" not "spiritual relatives" or something. There's a quest from Francis in Mankind Divided, though, not personal and that game is still wack.

They're somewhat inspired by close stereotypes that aren't the same: nerd and geek. While Megan is certainly nerdy to the core, works in an applied science area and pretty much isn't interested in anything else, Francis mostly follows geek stereotype, a hacker that also has standard geeky side interests, such as videogames or non-mainstream animation (Futurama), wrote a script for TV show, and more sociable. Moreover, according to these stereotypes, it's more usual for a geek to start hitting on a nerd than vice versa.

It's impressive how they started off from such a cringe-inducing cliches and managed to end up with such a realistic people.
