Beast: The Primordial
« on: March 31, 2016, 06:43:59 PM »
Beast, the tenth game line for the Chronicles of Darkness, has been released.

You're physically a human, but you have a monster for a soul... but your soul Hungers. Your job is to teach other humans a lesson; those lessons tend to manifest through fear and pain, but if done right, they will become better people for it. If done wrong... well, the world sometimes generates Heroes, a kind of hunter who would rather cut you down than understand the role you fill.

Beasts consider other supernaturals to be kin to them, and many Beast powers function according to what the Beast considers their Family, lending them to be more crossover-friendly than any of the other CofD games.

I was interested in this, until the changes, unfortunately. Changes that were brought about by a few people complaining that the game was a metaphor for racism, sexism, transphobia, or whatever negative ideology people had criticized it for(wrongly, IMO).

Now? No thanks.  Good luck, though.

***Edit - I'm heavily medicated right now and half asleep, so pardon me if I don't remember correctly. I do remember it was pretty cool at first glance, and then was changed midway through it's development or something. Kind of like what Blizzard just did with Overwatch. "Yeah, we had a girl posing with her butt out, but some people complained, so we'll change it, and tell everyone THIS is how it was supposed to be in the first place."

Sigh.
