Everyone, listen up. This is a major factor in Kindred Politics. L.A. is an anomaly in the world of the Kindred, no, the World of Darkness as a whole. It is the one major city on the planet that DOES NOT have a leader, and it has most of the various other WoD creatures as its residents. The Anarch Revolt broke out in 1944 and never stopped. Add to that the great siege of L.A. by the Sabbat in 1965 was massive but failed in the end. Every single sect is in this city, and nobody rules it. You are in the heart of the Anarch Free States and L.A. is its unofficial capital. The only thing that rules here is chaos, the blood of anarchy.

The Sabbat have taken a wait-and-see approach but are still in L.A., the Camarilla have a weak foothold, and the Anarchs have firmly planted its roots in the city. All sides are fighting and residing with each other. Lupines have certain sections of the city (particularly Malibu) and Mages live near the Lupines. There is also around 250 vampires living in L.A. That is some serious overcrowding. Anything can happen here.

Anarch gangs may come in and demand that we get off their turf, the Sheriff and Justicars can show up "enforcing" the Masquerade, or Sabbat pack can come bursting through the doors and make an even bigger mess of things. And that is just on the Kindred side of things regarding sect. There are also Independent clans to deal with. The Ravnos love the Anarch Free States and play their (often deadly) games, the Giovanni as always are trying to establish a monopoly in business in form or another, and the Settites are extremely attracted to the chaotic nature of the city to spread their corruption, despite that Lupines destroyed two of their largest temples causing them to build many smaller temples leading to in-fighting among themselves.

Then there are the different creatures. Some Glasswalker or Bone Gnawer Lupines can come "purify" this part of the city, the Mages can come seeking some powerful Indian relic or whatever, and the restless souls of the numerous dead often lash out in some parts of the city. L.A. defines anarchy in the World of Darkness.

For the Kindred politics, specifically the Camarilla, the few Elders that live in the city constantly fight and kill each other over who gets the throne of Princedom. Most don't want the position. The reason is that Princes literally rise and fall in one night. Nobody likes the new prince so somebody comes and offs him. Somebody else takes the position as per Camarilla law and somebody els come and offs the replacement. Now this is just from Elder scheming. If they manage to find a Prince that all the Elders can agree upon, somebody from the Anarchs or the Sabbat comes in and offs THAT replacement. See why "Prince of L.A." is an undesirable title? L.A. is the fastest city in the World of Darkness (even faster than New York). Anarchs say they want to take down "the Man." Well in L.A., Princes are minutemen.

i never said the ruller of la... perhaps i closed my quotation marks to early.

prince is only a title, and as long as the camarilla has a foothold, however small, they will have a prince governing them, however this can only ever be self styled in an annarch free state

im guessing that this Succubus Club  and Jakovis' bar are rp websights, would you mind linking for me, though i think there might be one to jakovis sight above somewhere

Yeps bloodlines was openly based in teh LA by night taking soem of the it offered, but from I learn it wasnt strictly cannon still it made for  avery good story having an allbusiness prince putting a strong (henchman's) foot in the middle of the anarch party

You know, I didn't want to step in before because I'd hate to spoil the broth, but this looks to me like we're RP-ing more seriously than I'd intended the thread to be.

I had meant it to be a lots-of-fun thread, forum members coming in and out, ribbing each other, just a place to pretend you're in your clan role while maintaining the atmosphere of casual groups.

If you guys had really wanted a serious RP, perhaps it would be better to make a thread intended for it.

 Let me know your opinions.

Thanks Arathalion, you might be on the right track about the next night. there's a couple of loose ends to tie up though...especially Azrael's end. Scip's and Bloodywolf's seem to be heading in an exit, so it'll be easier for a new night to begin for them.

Alright alright. Noncannon it is. But I still think there is more opportunity when a Prince is lacking. From the throes of chaos comes the greatest amount creativity, and creativity is everything in RP, especially in a free-for-all setting like this. It's your call Valoris.

The Succubus Club is a well-known bar in the books for getting all kinds of information. I don't know of any forums that actually role-play the Succubus Club, I only threw that name out there for RP purposes. What I'm really suggesting is just head over to Javokis' bar. The bar has entered a lull and it's virtually empty, perfect for starting a brand-new scene of antics.

 Here is Javokis' site:
 http://e-mods.net/forum/index.php

His bar is called Modern Club RP in the Role-Playing section:

Bloodywolf and I are heading to A Study of the Mind.
