So I'll try and frame my question like this. If I join, do you think that you will keep this going? If this game has some staying power with a committed GM, then I'm ready to invest some 40 dollars in a v20 edition PDF on DriveThrueRPG, because while I am not unemployed, I am far from broke and I think that I can survive this investment.

And the premise of the game intrigues me and I wouldn't mind give it a try.

The only reason I stopped posting was because the players didn't post and I had nothing to respond to. Which is to say, that yeah, I'd be happy to have you playing! In full fairness I should admit that one of the stoppages in our game was my fault - my hard drive died and it took me a minute to get a new one installed and upgraded with a new OS. I don't foresee that happening again, but hey, full disclosure. Also, July/August I work 6 days a week so the posting may slow a bit during those months. Otherwise, I'll let you know if I'm planning a vacation.

As for buying the book, you don't have to. I could give you the info you need for character creation and you could save the cash instead of buying the book... or at least waiting until your finances are better. Lemme know and I can shoot you that info through PM so as not to step on Paradox's legal eagles.

Alright, I will give it a shot, but if I'm going to play I do believe that I will need the whole book so that I can see what kind of things are used by which rules, attributes, skills etc.

Thus what I mean to say is that I might as well get the whole book now and have access to the rules myself rather than having to go through you, and support the World of Darkness in addition to that.

Hey Guys,

I would like to ask, is the Tokyo by Night the only active game around here nowadays?

Yes, although there's nothing stopping anyone from starting something new!

I would more like to play, then host a game, although Japan is somehow very alien for me... Is there any chance for you starting another game Nigama? I've noticed that in the first post you pitched other settings too.

Hmm... I hadn't really been thinking about running a new game. I'm not even sure what I'd feel like running. That Abyss Mysticism stuff was awhile ago; I'm not even sure I could find it. And Wraith games.. people never wanna play Wraith. :)

Assuming we could get a couple of people together, what type of game would you be looking for?

I would like to play modern vampire, but rather in a setting I could relate to more. Like Europe or North America.

I would also like to try Wraith, I have never played that, but had interest in it for a long time. I even bought Wraith: Great War book like 6 years ago. Back then I thought it was a standalone core rulebook much like Vampire: Dark Ages, but after I bought it did I realize that I would need Wraith: The Oblivion too.

But I think that it would be easier to get players for a modern VtM party.

Now, if I were to host a game I would do Vampire Dark Ages, unfortunately I'm not too good at knowing the rules, when I host a game live I always have an adjutant who knows the rules more then me and helps out.

I'll think on it a bit. A regular V:tM or DA:V game just doesn't appeal to me much without something interesting to focus on. I love the game but I've played it a LOT and run it a LOT. I'd like to do something different, if I do anything.

I see. Well, I think I would welcome a new and fresh idea.

In the meanwhile I was thinking about maybe, possibly hosting a Dark Ages game set in the Byzantine Empire in the late 11th century. That is if anyone is interested.

What I always wanted to try out too would be a precolumbian WoD scenario, with mages and werecats, and the only Cainites that could pop up are Gangrel. That would be interesting.

But if nothing new comes and no one is interested in anything new, would there be room left in the Tokyo by Night campaign? :)

Sure. I've been meaning to kill off the inactive players' characters.

Was reading the Onyx Path forums for inspiration but nothing was jumping out at me immediately. A pre-Columbian game could be interesting, although pretty strange itself.

EDIT: Okay. If you wanna run a Dark Ages Byzantine game, I'll play it. Now, just to find a few more players.

Cool. If anyone else is interested, I'll start working out the details.

And uh... how do you feel abyssal mysticism?   :cometome:

Or about me playing for the Muslims instead of the Christians?

Is it a forum game? I might be interested so long as its not too crazy with the fluffy supernatural stuff because the only thing I hated about VTM were the unreasonable expansions that sacrificed storytelling for the sake of milking the franchise.
(On that note if you've seen X-men:Apocalypse(2016) and understand why it sucked , you probably know what I'm talking about)

Don't know about that, I haven't really delved into Abyssal mysticism before, but I don't think I would be against it.

As for working for Muslims, I can get along with that too. There were certainly Muslim presence in the Byzantine Empire in the form of traders, so it is possible.

Yes, it would be a forum game.

As for the game being too crazy and fluffy supernatural stuff... what do you mean exactly? I'm not planning to include the Black Hand and the True Black Hand and whatnot, since I barely know anything about those.

Well on second thought I better not say,  I don't want to do or say anything that might restrict your creativity. Ill join and enjoy it for what it is, I myself made pretty crazy game in the past anyway. so count me in.

I see. Cool. Okay, so first off I was thinking that I would have the Vampire Dark Ages 20th Edition rulebook as the system for the game. Let me know if you guys can get your hands on that or would rather stick to the Revised edition.

I think I would only start the game around mid- or late October, if that's okay with you, first I would like to start playing the Tokyo by Night chronicle and get the hang of how the interactive forum game works (I have only played VtM live before, never on forums).
