Title: Re: Introduction and Suggestions
Post by: [archive] RomanK28488471 on February 23, 2005, 10:55:00 AM
Welcome to the new role-playing section of PlanetVampire. My name's Roman, and I will be the moderator of this section. Some of you might know me better from the Morrowind Summit Forums. Technically, this section is still 'under construction', as far as the official threads are concerned. I'd like to add a role-playing guide, but I'd prefer to build it from your suggestions, and not just reverse-engineer the one MSF's section has (although I must admit it's quite good).

Suggestions? Comments? Questions? Now's the time.

IMHO, the best way to get things started is to start a story. You can explain along the way :-)

I will, soon. Once I finish with my last test for this semester (which is today), I will have this great big pile of free time to do it in. I've already got several ideas running through my head, and once I've chosen a storyline, I'll start the story.

How familiar does one have to be with Vampire: The Mazquerade to participate?

Not very much. As long as you know what your character is capable of doing, and the basics (Bloodlines pretty much covers them), you should do okay.

This link should give the basic knowledge on the Vampire clans, and bloodlines. The rest you can pick up along the way.

not having "played" on a forum before:
How often do you expect characters to contribute?
How much time do people (as players I can see the ST spends a lot) normally put in?
Interesting certainly. Maybe I'll lurk a while and see how it goes.

Hm. Well, if you truly *do* intend to make a FPRPG (forumplanet RPG) with the Vampire rules and run a story here, you've certainly piqued my interest.

Hey, what's up? I haven't looked into the Summit for a while, I admit, mostly due to lack of time. As you can see, I've sort of moved here, liked the view, settled in... wink

 Care to join us?

Not much really. Only reason I still go to the Summit is the Tavern, if it went bye-bye then so would I.

And I might just join you... I'll take any oppertunity to better my writing abilities and exercise my imagination...

So this is where you sneaked off to! If I'd spotted this sooner, I'd have considered joining in! I often only appear on here when I have another product of my twisted mind to show off - I think I'm freaking people out with Vicissitude! wink

Why not consider it right now? It's still not too late, although I must say this is the last possible moment, so think fast. wink

I'll have a read through and decide. I don't suppose it would be possible to use my Ariana Dane character, would it? She could be there on a visit, perhaps? She does travel around sometimes, as she likes to meet with other Tremere. It's just I'm rather fond of this one and she's fun to use! I'm sure she could soon throw a few spanners into the works with her unique brand of insanity!

If not, I'll either think a new one up or wait for the nest story (if you do a sequel). I'm right in the middle of running a sequel to Raghasts story on MWS, so it would be easier for me at this time to keep just the one character!

Hmmm... Ariana Dane in Ravenmill... This could be interesting...

No problem on my end with Ariana Dane. The Prince will want to have a little... chat with her, though, when she arrives, so keep that in mind if you decide to join. And I would like an update on the changes with Ariana after Raghast's story, as I'm afraid I do not have the time to read through your story at the Summit at present.

Sure, I'll pop up an updated bio for her, as she's done some... things! She is a loyal Camarilla bigwig, so meeting the Prince will be her first port of call. happy

I'll read through all the story while I'm having my lunch to familiarise myself with all the characters and setting; Ariana will be playing only a smallish part despite her powerful nature - simply because she's a visitor.
