  •                 First, The Interview with the Vampire thread, however I may add some chapters to it, it’s not a story to be continued, it’s a background for the character I am using on Raven’s Call.

I am adding a new chapter to answer a complaint that Lancea presented to me: How is that a young guitarist got proficient at swordplay and firearms?
In case you are wandering, yes, I got Roman’s ok before post it.
If you got any comments, suggestions or (dare I say?) complaints, place them here on this thread.

Hee hee hee... guess who. In all earnesty though, you are to be commended for your work, the Blake story does indeed add depth to the character and explain stuff. All in all - nicely done.

Now, personally, I still think he's waaay to hardcore for a relatively fresh neonate, and Torrie at that, but that may be just me.

What about Leopold from the Clan novel series? I suppose, he diablerised a Setite and planted a dodgy eye into his skull, is he just the exception?

Impending spoiler, so if you haven't finished the saga yet, you'd better watch your step...

     1. He did diablerize a Setite. A torpored Setite. Vegel was beyond helpless at this point.

     2. He did plant the Eye into his skull. The Eye made him.

     3. He was not a Toreador to begin with. At one point during the final confrontation it's revealed that his sire was Nickolai, the Tremere antitribu. Leopold's memories were manipulated to cover Petrodon's murder.

A compliment from you Lancea, I never would expect it! (No sarcasm intended)

Besides the age, you keep talking about being a toreador...its a toreador supposed to be clumsy or something?
Lets take the hunter on Raven’s Call, shall we? I wouldn’t expect him to be over a hundred years old. Id guess he would be as old as Blake (counting after his embrace), or slightly older.
Now you would probably say that he would have training since he was born or something like that, right? Well, he has no vampiric power, no celerity, no potence or whatever. Still he can, for the lack of a better expression, kick ass. Sure he may have some hunter discipline or something that I am not familiar.
Now what is so hard to accept in a vampire, even a torrie, with inhuman speed and over a decade of combat training?
As you say, live with it…

Being Toreador automatically meaning being clumsy? No. Not at all.

As I've already pointed out in this thread Torries can in fact be formidable combatants. If it's justified by the character's background, disposition, training and abilities, that is.

See, to draw on the RC story for example, I've made Lars a good swordsman. However that was already his pursuit in life before the Embrace, and he's had nigh a century on honing his skills since then. *And* still, that is more art than anything to him. But, for instance, heavens forbid he'd be forced to shoot the gun he's been given recently or, let's say, try to sneak up on a Nosferatu (or was is a shimmy? that thing that Blake killed in the sewers?). See what I'm gettin at? Balance.

So, let me rephrase my original complaint from back when: I don't find Blake an "inconsistent" character per se, I just find him an "inconsistent" Toreador. No more, no less... *However* I'm coming more from the PnP standpoint, while you think along Bloodlines' standards, so I guess there is no middle ground here.

     Bottom line:

As I've said, the "Interview..." story does gradually explain the character somewhat, so for now I'll shut up ("for now". remember well that "for now" happy ) and see how it develops.

Now you cant say that there isn’t a difference between sneaking up on a guard or something like that, and sneaking at someone that’s in the middle of a fight eh?

     [added Sep  3 2005  7:32PM]

I added a small chapter to the story. It’s about Cole, an undead Garou.
I like the outcast, loner character types. Unfortunately one as this would be very powerful and likely to be very unbalancing character in a story…

     [added Nov 12 2005  1:11PM]

Added a short for Blake’s city, one story for Gamble and McCandless and yet another story for Thorn. Gamble, McCandless and Thorn are some characters I made up. They don’t have much to do with Blake, but I just wanted to post a story about them.

     [added Feb 11 2006  7:21AM]

Blake was my first rp character, so I made quite a few mistakes with him. I am still learning. I wanted to give him some sort of closure since RavenMill appears to end in limbo.  And now that I re-read the story I wrote, I don’t like it.
He is a whine do-gooder, with delusions of grandeur.
So I am trying to recreate the character, without just ignoring all the background I wrote before, in an attempt to make him a usable character. I am using first person narrative, since it just feels easier.
Comments, complaint and suggestions are welcome, if any.

Added a bit to Thorn's story.
