 Here's the deal:
I'm moving a lot of things around the house right now and my current operational computer is not the one where I kept the other stuff I wrote. It's in a box and I need to transfer the... ah, fuck it.
I'll start over on this computer. Completely new character and everything.

I think I have an idea. It won't take me long to figure it out. Will probably be easier than the first character I wrote too.

Keep in mind that I'm not one to write 20 pages of storystuff once my character joins the fun.
 I don't have... let's say Grendel's "ability".

Thanks.  Yeah, I just noticed the Sin City connection myself, 'course it makes sense  because I've been reading a lot of Frank Miller lately.

 Second that.

Actually, there's a fundamental lapse on my part here. I seem to have skipped the vital question somewhere along the road. Crazy - *do* you want to join at all?

Don't worry about the length of your posts, just get inside your characters head and see what comes naturally, then dress it up a little bit. Besides, long posts aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Oh I didn't mean to offend, I enjoy reading your posts Lancea. I'm just saying that people who make short posts shouldn't feel bad about it.

 Does this answer your question?

 Name: Rebecka Stein

 Clan: Tremere. (What else?)

 Date of Embrace: 1983

 Generation: 11th.

 Appearant age: 25 years old.

Enjoys scaring non Tremere with threats of powers she may or may not possess. How could anyone ever know if she's telling the truth?
The attitude toward the bloodmagic in itself is somewhat twisted and her Sire reminds her of the Oath constantly.

After years of studying ancient writings and arcane symbolism she seems to use the words in these
 texts for no appearant reason.
The texts have left an impression in her subconcious mind and these largley unknown languages emerge in the most mundane situations.
The events are quite rare but confusing to others.
Those who have learned to adapt to this oddity in her personality have also learned to translate some of the words, feeling offended when being called things such as "nahak" and the like.
A perk to this is that it makes keeping secrets from others much easier and she has been tasked to create a version of this new tounge for clan only discussions to prevent Nosferatu and possibly Malkavian eavesdropping.
There is a balance to this "tounge speak" but to any outsider it is seemingly without structure and that makes it even more frustrating and harder to translate by the unknowing.
To Storytellers this can be compared to the derangement "Sanguinary Cryptophagy".

She also has the habit of trying to "sample" others, be they Kindred or Kine using various tools and methods.
These samples are used in ways no other being has ever seen due to her interest in privacy.
Others find this disturbing. God knows what she really does with the samples!
Oddly enough, her Sire permits these experiments and rumours circulate around the Chantry that she is listing all Kindred in Cawford in blood for the good of the Clan.

She is fiercely loyal the the Clan and if anyone asks too many questions they might as well be talking to a wall.
 Or possibly a scizofrenic Malkavian...

 Looks:

Thin and very pale due to poor exposure to sunlight as a living being.
Shoulderlong and somewhat messy hair that has been dyed snow white. Unkept appearance due to her focus being more on her studies than the physical bit but by no means unattractive.
Blue, intense eyes in contrast to her pale skin.
She has various scars on her arms and hands from her earlier life that she covers up with long sleeved clothing and bandages.
She normally dresses in a white labcoat that always has a few odd stains on it and rubber gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints.

Rebecka was blinded while still alive in an accident she refuses to speak of, her left eye is milky and white. Because of this, she wears sunglasses all the time out of shame.

She carries a testing kit consisting of a scalpel, plastic tubes and a sharpened letteropener for "experiments" and a small notebook written all in code.
She has a habit of playing with this homemade dagger when bored.
The knife is used to cut herself and others to sample vitae for various experiments to further
 her Thaumathurgic power.
Along the blade she has carved the words "Pretium Scientiae".

 Disciplines:

I don't know what the standard cap is. 9? In that case:

Auspex: 4. Telepathy is used to obtain information for the Clan.
Dominate: 3. Sometimes people just need to forget certain things.
Thaumathurgy: 2. It takes time and effort but it's coming along nicely.
Level one is useful for the various experiments.

I haven't figured out a good past and that "prominent blood" thing yet. I hate my brain sometimes.
I mean, where is that ketchup effect?

That does answer my question in a way, I guess. So far nothing I see wrong with the character, so you're free to post her intro. As for the history the "prominent" part may be ditched if it's blocking you. Thaum - Path of Blood I assume?

 That would be it.
 I'll throw something together later.
Family visiting and all that stuff so I'm kind of busy with that. I'll see what I can write tomorrow.

Just to check: Is it confirmed that no new players are allowed at this point in time? I'd like to give things a shot (I'm no great story-teller, mind) but I'm not sure how this goes about. Could someone fill me in please?

Lancea has twice said that for now no new players will be accepted.

Not what this here is about. Let's keep posting-for-the-sake-of-posting to what's going on in the Mug Shots thread currently. I actually don't mean to be pressuring anyone, this is supposed to be fun, not a chore, after all. Bottom line: take your time, just have some decency.

As for new players - I honestly keep the messages I recieve in mind. But this episode needs to be completed, or at least get underway, first. Clear? Clear. Great.

Well there aren't any real concrete rules to this type of thing, you basically create a character which fits certain criteria, the character then gets approved by the story-teller (Lancea in this case) and then you write how your character reacts to what happens in the story, how he thinks about certain things, what he says when he interacts with other characters and how he handles certain situations the story-teller places him in.

There are three basic rules I can think of:

1: Keep it realistic, your character isn't an invulnerable super-being so if he or she gets in a fight he or she is bound to get hurt.

2: The story-teller is the only one that can introduce major plot-changes, sometimes a game is less story-teller dependent and the players are free to make suggestions of their own but the story-teller is alwys running the show.

3: Don't take control of other people's characters wihout their permission and you should naturally be respectful of other people's posts.

Say Lancea, I was just wondering, when all four characters are briefed on the whole delegation thing, what are they supposed to do during the two days before this little fieldtrip takes place?
