Unless its a ceremonial tattoo don't bother.  Regular Tattoos are nice but they have no power.

Can you give some examples?

Tattoos, especially well done ones, are cool but I have never understood why I would get one.
I have not yet figured actual reason to get one.
I am not insecure enough to get one.
I would rather spend the money on something useful or for travels.
Go travel and experience shit.

I went through my mid life crisis where I was considering getting a few tattoos but I settled for making fake ones with inkjet printer and special paper and from all that I applied, only one really took my fancy ,then I didn't bother.

I like tattoos but if you get one make sure you pay for quality artist because nothing worse than a shit looking tattoo and never get  woman's name ffs. Never!

I acctually have some tattoos. When i stay in a country for a while (right now thailand) i usually end up getting a tattoo if there is some meaning to me about that period of time. If its your first tattoo i would recommend that you think it thru alot before doing it. You can go to the artist and ask him to make you a henna one that you walk around with for a while to see how it feels. Good luck mate

If it's first - do something with jagua - it's temporary and stays for 15 days (black). After 15 days you will know if it would be a mistake to make tattoo, or you really wanted it :)

You should take into account that the tats will age, so an epic 40k uber detailed  battleground or a legendary ronin guy with shit ton of details might not age well.
Sure there is "retouching" service but it can only do so much against  the processes of skin and exposure.

Despite my multiple poor choices at least I did nail it in making designs that actually aged well and don t really need touching up -they could, but I like the fact that they ve aged with me (unspekable sentence a few years ago by mes here)

I think it's better to wait a six months before you decide to make a tatoo. There's a good chance you won't like the idea or a specific pattern at the time of half year from now, so it's better (and safer) to avoid the dissapointment of having some marks you dislike burnt into skin forever. As to the delicate matter of choosing an expierienced tatoo-ist who won't harm you, it's risky. I'd ask around your friends and their friends who had tatooes, and have an opportunity to look at their tatoos (previous works of your possible tatoo-maker). All in all, don't be fast, take your time and be consious it's your skin here and that matters!
