Okie-Dokie-Lokie Chapter 1 is coming to a close (as soon as Void gets a post out,) so its time to do the wrap up dance.

First I need everyone to vote for two players, not yourself. Then explain why you are voting for them. Did they RP well? Were they really interesting to you? Its about how you personaly felt about the experience of the RP.

Secondly, I want everyone to discuss what they learned, about their characters, about themselves playing their characters. Every character was something special, and each player had a chance to get in their skin and try it out. Discuss how you feel about your character.

Thirdly is the part I'm sure most of you are dying (or wanting to be embraced for) stat points. Weee!

Everyone is going to get an addition of the normal 13/9/5 in your Abilities. What this means is you need to pick a primary, seconday, and tertiary set, then apply the appropriate ammount of points. This is restricted of course. Your Primary set can have no more than 1 ability at LV 3, and this of course can NOT be a modern ability such as computers or driving. Any ability of 3 signifies something you suddenly remember quite well from your life before torpor. I'll make a short list of abilities that can't be 3 when I get time after while if people need, otherwise use common sense.

Your secondary can have  no more than 1 abiility at LV 3 as well this signifies more of the knowledge from the diablerie and CAN be a modern abiility. Tertiary abilities can only be at LV 2.

Lastly are disciplines. Everyone will be able to gain 3 discipline points. You get a few choices. You are not allowed more than 3 points in any one discipline at the moment. You are limited to three disciplines at the moment. To gain access to more disciplines you will roll a die once I make a discipline pool list, and you'll be granted a random discipline from the list. So for example:

 Subject 0 has 1 Fortitude at the moment. His player decides he only wants to raise Fortitude to 2, so he spends one of his points. He also decides that he wants one other discipline, so he rolls a die when the list is made and is granted Potence, in which he puts his two points in. Had he wanted he could have, done these combos: 3 Fort 1 Potence.  2 Fort 1 Potence 1 other discipline. 1 Fort 2 Potence 1 other discipline

Once you roll for a new discipline you HAVE to spend at least one point in it. The decision is final, and there will be no rerolls or going back for the particular discipline point.

I'll edit this post when everyone can roll for their disciplines.

Alrighty the discipline list is now complete (thanks Isador.) If you wish a secondary or third discipline you must roll a 1d20 to spend that discipline point. Remember there is no going back, once you decide to do this.

Because Isador Requested it:

First I need everyone to vote for two players, not yourself. Then explain why you are voting for them. Did they RP well? Were they really interesting to you? Its about how you personaly felt about the experience of the RP.
Well, my first vote goes to R21 with [11], aka goatee man unless I'm mistaken. Why ? Because I found he displayed a coherent character, and tried to push the story onward while leaving room in the spotlight for others (and yes, because of my limited posting ability, it is something I do take into account and appreciate).
My second vote... well, I guess I should explain myself, and I hope you won't begrudge me for trying to be frank and clear. I didn't find myself like doing some "positive vote" on it. No other character sprang to mind that I felt was spot on what I expected. So it's rather a selection process. Malavis's Cteniz is way too confusing for my personal taste. Voidshaper has been playing an interesting kid, but something about him feel "rushed" to me. Friktion has not been able to post much, so I can't really comment (and I expect it'll be the same for me). Isador's character is a bit different, since I don't quite have a grasp on her yet, but she seemed to me like the most "realistically lost", while remaining concise and constant. So my last vote goes to Isador.
Now please let me state again : this is my personal appreciation of fictional characters, and by no mean a critic of anyone. More like suitabilty to my tastes / expectations.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Secondly, I want everyone to discuss what they learned, about their characters, about themselves playing their characters. Every character was something special, and each player had a chance to get in their skin and try it out. Discuss how you feel about your character.
What I learned :
- it's hard to translate the "Speech Impediment" flaw through pbp ! I didn't want some mere stuttering, so tried something more elaborate. I don't know how it was perceived ? It's meant to represent someone who can't control his voice at all, sometimes whispering sometimes shouting in the same sentence, sometimes in the middle of the same word....
- As for his personality, I'm not quite satisfied with my display of his "Nature" yet. His demeanor may be around the mark with little adjustement, according to what  I have in mind, [12] merely needs to be slightly more vocal. All in all, I don't think I've interacted enough with the others to allow them an assessment of him, and that's probably a mistake.
- I don't really feel like my character was anything special. I may have missed something on that respect. I do have ideas for expanding about his nature, but nothing that feels really special yet. I'll have to think about it further.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Everyone is going to get an addition of the normal 13/9/5 in your Abilities. What this means is you need to pick a primary, seconday, and tertiary set, then apply the appropriate ammount of points. Your secondary can have  no more than 1 abiility at LV 3 as well this signifies more of the knowledge from the diablerie and CAN be a modern abiility. Tertiary abilities can only be at LV 2.
Shall we inform you of our choices through MP, or post them here, please ?

Lastly are disciplines. Everyone will be able to gain 3 discipline points. You get a few choices. You are not allowed more than 3 points in any one discipline at the moment. You are limited to three disciplines at the moment. You are the DM, I'm playing in your game and I'll abide by your rules. Yet let me express my concern about this. You probably have some reason for this, but I'd rather have control over my character in that respect. I have something in mind for my character, and I feel like it would be expressed / translate well in some particular disciplines. Why, o why, should I have to spend points in something that may be far from the marl I have in mind ? Let's say you have a "typical ventrue" in mind. You have Dominate. Presence would feel very right (or Animalism, imho, but that's for another topic). And you roll Obfuscate, or -god forbids- Quietus ! Now what ? You change your character ? you write this into his background somehow ? you roll with it, and that's all ? And again, how do we inform you of our choices, please ?

As I said, I'm sure you have your reasons, and I'll play as you say. But I'd like to understand it a bit if possible, please :)

Votes:

Let's start by saying that I've enjoyed the roleplaying and introduction of everybody's characters so far. Speaking personally (and I'll get to this later in the lessons I've learned) it's hard to hit the ground running with a randomly generated character, and expect to roleplay him/her perfectly to start. It takes time for them to grow on you, even the ones you craft from scratch in a normal VTM game. I'm looking forward to seeing where we all go from here :)

That being said...votes! First up is Isador. I think he's got a good thing going on with this little, seemingly innocent girl, who is trying to look out for her brother. At times the character felt too old (i.e. acting more mature than a 12 year old), and I would like to see the nurturing instinct continue from her, and maybe extend to more than just her brother in time.

Next up is Cteniz. Bigpaw commented that this character can feel too confusing at times and I would agree with him. Malavis should take that as constructive criticism, but I don't think it detracts from the great roleplaying performance. Clearly the character has issues, and the confusing monologues help bring that out. My concern with this character is that it will be difficult to interact with him on any sort of common level. However, the confusion bred by Malavis' posts always has me wondering what Cteniz will do next, or where his loyalty lies. He's a bit of a wild card character!

Lessons Learned:

It's my first time RPing a child in the World of Darkness, and that might show through. Not to mention, my character has an exceptionally low Intelligence rating. My biggest challenge has been to put aside my own thoughts on strategy in-character, and play him more as an obedient grunt to his sister, who he trusts to be smart enough to speak for both of them.

I would like to see him come into his own though, even as dependent on his sister as he is. I think I've taken a few brash leaps with the boy, trying to assert himself to the others. I want to explore more of that in the future, as I think it fits the portrait of him being somewhat of a dumb brat figure.

I want him to interact more with the rest of the characters going forward. I really enjoyed the interplay between the boy and Rad's character. I look forward to seeing how he'll mesh (or clash) with the others!

First, yes do so privately to give me your stats (msn or pm), also when you give me your order of primary secondary and tertiary do it in a format such as 1:Talents 2:Knowledges 3:Skills, then list what stats get + to them.

Now about disciplines. You have no clan. There are no bloodline/clan ridgid mysticisms holding you to a regiment of disciplines.

Let me put it this way. Had I made you human, and you decided your character was a very intelligent, neuroseurgeon, then in the course of the story, you get embraced by... say oh, a Nosferatu. Now in the time you spend with your sire he ONLY shows you how to use Animalism. Well now you have Animalism 3, which doesn't very well fit with being a neuroseurgeon does it? But thats how it is, and it is what it is. You don't get to choose your embrace. They choose you.

Originally I was going to just ahve filled out sheets and reveal them to you in incriments. I felt it might have been TOO out of the players hands so I decided to do things randomly instead, as it adds a flair of chaos to the game.

I'm going to say Voidshaper and Radical21 in this case.

I know rad's writing style and I know it was hard for him to play a character with insanely low intelligence or charisma (I havent quite figured out which yet, lol)- Nevertheless he played a believably simple character who was set on getting out.

I enjoyed Void's simple, childish competitiveness and found that it offset Cteniz's rather... *ahem* Unusual behaviour quite well- and it's no accident that the first two instances of conflict in the story (Not actual fighting, though there was a bit of that)- were started by these two characters. I am also looking forward to seeing how the relationship between the twins evolves (though hopefully not in any kind of creepy way.)
------------------------------------------------------

I have not played a character quite as... Unique as Cteniz before, and in the interest of maintaining a bit of required mystery around the character, I will just say that it has been a very interesting experience trying to describe things from the perspective of someone doubly detached from a human perspective. I have been assigned drastically different natures and demeanors, so playing that dichotomy is a lot of fun as well. As his thoughts organize, he will likely become more lucid, but it will be interesting to see where things go from there. In response to the criticism about him being confusing, that was definitely my intent: For him to be nigh unintelligible for a while :) As things come together and he starts recognizing shapes and objects and where they fit into his world, he'll be able to sort out concepts a little more readily. He may still not make much sense, but at least he'll make himself a bit more useful ;) He's an otherworldly character, so I have to see where that goes :)

I'd just want to add, though, since most of you don't know. Alot of his dialog has also been narrative thats been fed to him, to articulate as he saw fit. I think it should be taken into account, that while he has had a very challenging concept, that he has also been used as a tool by me to forward the plot without having to go and write up a whole narrative post (which is what I'm trying to keep to a minimum if you hadn't noticed.) For Chapter 1 he was the most accessable for me to do this, but I personally like doing this with my players. It allows them to be spot lighted rather than the ST just listing everything out. I rather the ST be the world and the players themselves the story.

Votes:
Having a tough time deciding because I think they were all equally interesting.
I think I will vote for:
Voidshaper [3] for RPing a competitive kid with inferiority complex.
Malavis [15] out of everyone I am guessing he had the most to work with but executed well in a way that kept me wondering about what the hell was that guy.

Honorable mention to ...
Friktion [14] for the pessimism and despair which I'm guessing was Curmudgeon and Conformist?
Isador[4] for the screams... someone had to.
Bearpaw[12] for being so weird and enigmatic too bad there was not much outside interaction with his character... Loner and Visionary?

Rolling
Spoiler for Hiden:
[blockquote]Rolled 1d20 : 6, total 6[/blockquote]

Edit @ Malavis: My Character has average intelligence(2) but the lowest charisma (1 dot) which combined with his nature and demeanor makes him callously dumb.

Edit 2 @ BearPaw: I agree with your assessment and I faced the same Dilema when considering the characters of Yours and Friktion's  there seem to be less input about them or what they were about which made it harder to cast a vote for them.
I did like [14] pessimistic remarks but when he suddenly rushed to the blood enthusiastically it made me wonder if his character was actually bipolar(probably is).
So there was not enough to claim that I as a reader have a clear picture of these two characters..

Voting for Voidwalker and Malavis

Voidwalker, because i feel he did a great job rping his character. RPed a child better then i did, that's for sure! Which is exacly why he gets my vote!

Malavis, for the absolutely confusing method of rping that somehow still makes sense!

What have i learned this chapter?....well

I learned that rping a child is HARD. It was HARD as HELL for me to rp a character that doesn't think on the same terms as i do, and i'm afraid that shone through a lot more then i'd liked. But of course, that's a learning experience! And it's exacly what i'll work on during the next chapter, provided my character isn't the next to end up on the sacraficial altar.

What did I learn from this chapter:

Attempting to juggle conflicting Attribute extremities , Natures and Demeanor, Vampire and interpreting it all into a coherent character was/is challenging and interesting.
Also role-playing him interacting with other other characters with that strange cocktail and the fact that its a Vampire was very  :facepalm: at times and I was surprised he didn't end up getting killed..

Waiting on Abilities from Bigpaw, Friction, Radical21. Waiting on Disciplines from Friction and Bigpaw.

Once everyone has made their posts I'll throw in my own critique and fangs about everyone's RP, and then begin getting setup for the next part.
