What's weird about that is the account was registered this past January, but the bot only started doing it now...
Has the server had issues with accounts being hacked, or even the server itself? I get the feeling this could be what's happening here. I mean I don't know whether or not the accounts these messages are coming from have actually even been active on here otherwise.

I suspect there have been many bots over time, it's just the tactics have changed. I have it set that nobody can post links in forum posts until after 1 or 3 posts without links. When I've disabled that, we've immediately had forum spam. I suspect these bots that are registered with 0 posts are now targeting profiles, where there is no such setting, like I have for the main forums. Most of the accounts that I've banned recently were obvious bots, I can tell from their own profiles ect. I'm hoping the extra registration question will stop the flow registering for a while.
