If you can connect Johnny Cash to a World of Darkness PC game in 2 steps or less, post your answer here. Either you know it or you don't; there's little room for guessing in this episode!

Much of Johnny Cash's music, especially that of his later career, echoed themes of sorrow, moral tribulation and redemption. These themes are echoed in BOTH VTM:R and VTM:B.

DING DING DING!! You win a "close, but no cigar" trophy. You're right, but there is a specific connection, mentioned by name, that I'm looking for.
HINT: Like many aspects of the (old) World of Darkness, this missing link is so very late 90's.

Hmm, how about Pink's "interrogation" of the Toreador party member, where he asks her who "Cry Cry Cry" are, and she responds that they were a band? And there's apparently a Johnny Cash song called "Cry Cry Cry." Is that the connection?

Yes!
And leave it to me to set up a Trivia question, and then go hiding in the leaves for a week. Sorry for the late response, but Prophet is right. In the Setite brothel, Pink doubted Lily's claim to be Toreador. Relying on a (questionable) assumption that all Torries are in touch with indie music trends, he demanded that she
"Prove it! Who's 'Cry, Cry, Cry?'"
He was referring to the indie band
Cry, Cry, Cry
who was peaking in popularity in 1999, just as Redemption was entering its final stages of development at Nihilstic. Althoug the connection to Johnny Cash is not explicitely acknowledged by the band, they have been
reported
to have performed the Cash song of the same name at various live events. An interesting cover can also be found on the soundtrack to
Walk the Line
(2005), in which Joaquin Phoenix portrayed the late country star.
Good ear, Dark Prophet.
