  •                 Hi all! (sorry for my bad english)

My laptop has a 17" widescreen display with a 1440x900 resolution. The game does not support widescreen, so the game is stretched or there are black edges.

I looked up this topic in other forums, but I only found out, how to change the solution by editing the registry (which doesn´t work) or downloading the "resolution patcher", but this also doesn´t work... (is it possible, to run the resolution patcher on my version?  I installed patch 3.1 on the official one, 1.2 )

Does anyone know, how to get a 16:10 resolution? Please help me

<red>EDIT: Pirapira explained me my mistake: It´s necessary to install .net framework before starting the "resolution patcher"
Now I did and it works perfect, so this thread can be closed   unless there are some more questions about the topic.</red>

  •                 Downloaded VTMB from Steam.

I'm under the impression that the download comes pre-patched 1.2.

     My monitor is 16:9.

I DL'ed and installed .NET Framework 1.1 and pirapira's patcher.

The patcher seems to work in the menu and character creation screens.  However saved games and new games underway still suffer from the old stretched proportions. I've played with the packaged resolutions and experimented with values I know work on my computer (1280x720), but the resolution does not change in-game.

What am I doing wrong? Does it have something to do with Steam?

lol 16:9. wide screen is wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

anyway. as far as i was aware, all you had to do was set the resolution manually in /vampire/data/cfg/config.cfg or whatever that file is called.

  •                 Even if you do set the res right, you still have the anamorphic issue, where everything looks either fat, or really skinny if you change the setting.

I believe it is <white>r_anamorphic</white>. Set it to 1.

cfg files should just be scripts run at startup, just add it in at the end or find an existing entry.

you dont need any third part software

Yes, that's what I was referring to, however, I run a 16:10 aspect ratio, and there is no way I can acheive a perfect circle.
