Updating Camarilla Edition to 8.5.1, possible?
« on: March 18, 2013, 07:37:03 pm »
Will updating the Camarilla Final Edition to 8.5.1 break anything?  I'm assuming so, but since it's only bugfixes I just want to make sure.  Thanks all!

It's still the same problem: You overwrite modified files with files that contain other modifications. And that leads to all kinds of shit up to CTDs.
And it's not really necessary, because most of the critical things that made the 8.5.1 patch necessary were discovered, and therefore avoided, during the beta tests for CE final.

The games mods are done by overwriting, not by patching. If we had something like WEIDU, but for bloodlines specific files, and if mods could be rewritten to use it, maybe 'compatible' parts of mods would be possible. As we don't, no way. But even that wouldn't allow you to play your old savegame with no problems.
