I don't think Troika had more in mind for this, it just adds to the atmosphere.

I don't know which box you mean, but I added hundreds of unused props to many maps over the years! Also just recently I added several restroom doors to maps where there just needed to be some, otherwise it would be unrealistic...

Regarding the box, I don't know if it was a bug, but behind that drawer (in the picture) a few months ago I've found an hidden box

EDIT: here's the box. If you get inside not only you can find 150$ but it lightens up

I meant the money the drug dealers on the beach stole from mercurio after beating him to death (sorry for the misunderstanding)

There are already inspection particles there, but you need to have an inspection of 4 or higher.

As for hidden places, there is the dressing room at the Vesuvius which you can't really enter...

Mine was just an idea for an alternative for when computer skills are higher than inspection, nothing more.

I think i found the solution for the payphone receiver. After 14 years (since the patch 1.2)  the receiver will stay at least 10 minutes in your hand in theory. After that it will hang itself.

I  have simply change the FPS from 30 to .1  inside the payphonereceiver.mdl and it works!!!

Just hope it will works for eveybody.




For the credit in the UP   DDLullu   will be enough.

BTW, Wong Ho has a similar bug when he phones Zhao, the mobile keeps vanishing and reappearing in his hand. Can you please fix this too or explain to me how to do it?

Yes, it's the internal name for the Sabbat that is observing the player in SM and obfuscates himself.

3 questions:

1. Sabbat ending...I haven't played since like 9.3. So you can choose to side with the Sabbat as an actual ending now? :O

2. Ventrue Tower portals? I don't recall seeing anything like that in the past unless they're physically new.

3. Didja add the names (such as my irl name, "Matt Strickland") to the end credits to Release Candidate 2 that you didn't have in time for Release Candidate 1? I want to play through again and screenshot my name in the end credits to send to my irl friends/family in an act of desperation to feel validated. :D

1. Yes, a while ago this was added (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=37WarrMqs_M) (not as a restoration of unused files but as a choice to the sabbat fans, or at least I think). But if you feel it is needed a more juicy sabbat ending you can give a look at the clan quest mod new sabbat path where you have to go undercover in sabbat territory in a new hub (east la) with the option to switch side without the cammies knowing.

2. I think this is an internal name and not an actual portal crossover

3. This I don't know but to quickly know open the credits.txt file (under Unofficial_Patch/vdata/system/ or something like that) and look where that section is

Yes. Although it's only a rather improvised thing! If you want a real Sabbat storyline, play CQM 4.0!

These are map entities blackening areas outside at a distance. They were messed up and nobody needs them with current hardware anyway!

Talking about portal, some time ago I saw a portal/bloodlines crossover but I cannot remember if it was just a photoshop or a joke mod (or if I did imagine that at all....), anyone can confirm this?

Good news, Wong Ho cellphone doesn't vanished anymore. I simply use the cellphone as ornament and it works! (Just wondering why people have not tought of that?). All you have to do after that is unhide the phone before the call and hide it after the call.

Well, if Wong Ho's cellphone is so easy to fix how about the dirty cop with is walkie-talkie? Sadly we can not use the walkie-talkie as an ornament but we can make a new walkie-talkie that can be use as an ornament. So i have made one! Look at the picture below. You have to change sequence to gesture in the VCD so the animation will play until the end. I have include a VCD in the zip file.

I was checking the animation on the Dane and finished the dialog to see what happen when he call his buddy to see the whale. To my surprise we have an animation there too! So i add two lines to a logic_relay to unhide-hide the new ornament and that too works.

Edit new: make this 4 lines to changed , i have just add another skin to the cop to make the walkie vanished on his belt!

Finaly i have used the spare textures of the fridge to make a new side texture and a new front texture using the old refrigerator (the yellow one) as my model. I have made two models for it. One, same thing as the original fridge with the door close and a second one with a reduce width and the door close. The door open in the two cases!


I'm still thinking about the cigarette extra effect, Don't know exactly how it works?

Wonderfull! I will include all of this in the 10.3 RC 3. BTW, you sure heard about the Bloodlines 2 announcement. It's true that they want to have our names into the credits, so if you want to give me some more info, you now know why ;).

I have a request as well, for the UP + 

Would it be possible to make it so that we can pick up more than one type of weapon at a time? I mean, just because I already have one knife, I don't see why I can't pick up another...to sell to merchants.

I realise this may be considered "cheating" but at the same time nobody would be obligated to pick them up.

That's probably an interesting place animation that work on all NPCs. Didn't know it's messed up too!

I'm sure that this model and textures can be assigned as gangrel only, but I'm not sure how to do that on my own.

Probably by just renaming the model and adding a new line as MooCHa did. I can do this myself latter I think. So will one of you fix the tattoo-on-wrong-hand issue with the male hand ;)?

I know, but it's only because gangrels doesn't have their own unique model as toreadors or ventrue. But I'm sure that this model and textures can be assigned as gangrel only, but I'm not sure how to do that on my own.
That's not too hard. First you create a new subdirectory /gangrel in the hands path for both model and textures. Copy your textures in the new directory and a hands model in the /models/.../gangrel directory. (Extract the original from the archives or copy from Toreador or Ventrue.)
Now open the new model file with vpk tools and edit the texture path.

While we're on the subject of hands...

The female Tremere hand closeup has her wearing some hand jewelry, something like this (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/uy4AAOSwLEtYgKKk/s-l300.jpg), but the full-body model doesn't, IIRC. Could the model be edited to add them?

So i've placed v_shared_female_hands.mdl into Unofficial_Patch\models\hands\female\gangrel, copied v_toreador_fem_hands.dx80.vtx and v_toreador_fem_hands.dx7_2bone and renamed them to gangrel respectively, placed fpfhandbottom.tga and fpfhandtop.tga into Unofficial_Patch\materials\models\hands\female\gangrel and it still doesn't work :( What am I doing wrong?

You have to edit the texture path in the model file.
Use vpk-tools, go to "model" and open the the .mdl file. There you will find a block for the texture paths. Change that to \materials\models\hands\female\gangrel.
And don't forget to edit clandoc000.txt.

I changed the path in the v_gangrel_fem_hands.mdl but to no avail. There is no 2nd file, I take it it's a fallback in case the clan specific one is missing?

Cool! I think I might have gotten the wrong model, because while now the tattoo shows up correctly, it appears on both arms, where in Jenya's screenshot it is only visible on one side.

The female Tremere hand closeup has her wearing some hand jewelry, something like this (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/uy4AAOSwLEtYgKKk/s-l300.jpg), but the full-body model doesn't, IIRC. Could the model be edited to add them?

I think we would need to just retexture her but it's so small it hardly visible...

It couldn't show up on both hands cos I've changed UV on the model so it should mix up textures on default hands drastically. Dunno what can cause problems, maybe I attached wrong model, but I doubt it.

Where did you mess up? Not sure what you mean but I had to do the UV's in Blender. the attached model file the other fella attached was from 2017. Don't think you had much choice to be fair in the matter regarding your involvement.

The textures are objects\projector and objects\projector_wheel, but I think there is no model at all! Can you build one out of some other? The wheels already exist in scenery/furniture/stage_props/reel01.mdl and reel02.mdl if that helps...

I can't commit to anything atm. But do you know of any model that would be close to or kind of resemble what you need doing? It has been so long since I've played to think of anything of the top of my head.

Sadly no, there is a film camera in the Netcafe. Maybe it could be used as base with the wheels added and only the arms and details created new. But take your time, or anybody else who think he can do it. It's not important...

It should be exclusive to the Coffee Shop only, but I think I released one version where is replaced all of them and now it stays if you installed into the same folder...

Since you guys are currently on the topic of models this seems like a good place to ask.
There're animations in models/character/shared/<gender>/misc.mdl that do not appear to be useable in the game.
Examples are:
thaumaturgy_cast
thaumaturgy_cast_layer
thaumaturgy_idle
thaumaturgy_idle_layer
SM_Huddle (only in .../shared/female/misc.mdl, referred to in tourette.dlg)
SM_Huddle_Getup (only in .../shared/female/misc.mdl)
SM_MutilationAction (only in .../shared/female/misc.mdl)


When using the console command "player_sequence thaumaturgy_cast" for example, the console returns an error message stating that the animation doesn't exist. Using Python commands doesn't work either.
Opening misc.mdl with notepad and going through the list of animations at the end of the file also indicates that these animations don't exist. They aren't mentioned anywhere.
However, PakFile Explorer can find them and play them without a problem! That's how I found them. This means that the animations must still be in the file, but are hidden in some way.
Does anybody have an idea on how to restore them?

I think it would be better considering Beckett now just uses the Spectral Wolf model, minus the glow.

It feels a little lazy, nor does it make any sense for Beckett to use the same model as the Spectrals, maybe it was easier for Troika to just use one model, considering the whole deadline and funding thing that was going on.

To be more precise, the ''new'' model is a duplicate with a new texture, one that actually fits imo.

I already asked him myself to send me the files, let's see who is quicker ;). Because I looked into the game file and Troika did actually create a second wolf file for Beckett, only I guess the didn't have the time to skin it properly so they used the Spectral Wolfes skin instead...

I'm excited to see the new wolf skin in the UP+. I always thought it was strange that Beckett was a spectral wolf minus the glow. I was actually surprised that after 15 years, I was the first one to reskin that, lol.

Originally they were replaced by the unused Voice of Madness and Sleep levels, but some people complained that this weakens both clans a lot. So I discussed this with EntenSchreck, who restored the disciplines and we decided to restore the unused effects for partial responses, like we had already done with Bloody Eye for the Tremere. After which I restored Blood Malady as partial effect for them too!

I am with Ian here. Removing Sleep makes the game more difficult not easier and the player loses possibilities for gaining nothing. For me Mass Suicide is of no use but Sleep could be of much help. For Bedlam I am not sure, it somehow fits a Malkavian and maybe it is better to be returned but on the other hand it is too random and I doubt that it will be a first choice to be used. After all the chance for the desired effect is 25% and the cost is quite high.

As I mentioned more difficult, could you make the Sheriff use his Fortitude discipline. I don't remember ever seeing him use it. That could make the fight with him I little bit more difficult because at least for me it is too easy now. If I remember correctly he has Fortitude 5 in his NPC template.

I think the sleep is more useful for players who prefer no killing-stealth style. It very useful on the missions like Elizabeth Dane and at the museum. In the other hand I'm totally understand people who prefer suicide over sleep in combat, it just more useful when you fight. Hard to decide which one suits the game better.
Is there no possibility to have them both?

I like the first one with sleep and multi-suicide. This is just my opinion, but I would like to hear what others think.

I like the first one with sleep and multi-suicide. This is just my opinion, but I would like to hear what others think.

Isn´t Sleep just a variation from Trance?
The only advantage from Sleep seems to me its longer duration.

It basically knocks out enemies for the whole map, which is great for non-lethal sneaking.

Not really. We could replace single Suicide with Sleep again, but keep the multi-Suicide as final level. The other option would be to make sleep part of command so there is a chance that enemies will fall asleep. Which of both solutions makes more sense in your opinion?

That would be cool, but I don't know if this is possible...

P.S.: I played around with Dominate some more and Sleep in Command isn't really usefull as you don't know what happens, so I replaced Single-Suicide with it again and restored two more Command varations called Leave and Flee instead :)!

Replacing Suicide with Sleep is most probably the only available solution so if you ask me, I vote for Level 3 Sleep, Level 4 Possession, Level 5 Mass Suicide. In fact now instead of single Suicide it will be Mass Suicide which should satisfy both parties and expanding the available options in Command discipline is welcome.

P.S. Anything on my suggestion about the Sheriff Fortitude discipline?

In fact I haven't play VTMB for more than a half year so I was a little bit rusty but I played last night the whole Ventrue Tower and I was able to kill him in his bat form with Tal'Mahe'Ra Blade in no time. He could be a joke with Tal'Mahe'Ra Blade so I think that restoring his Fortitude discipline will make him more of a challenge.

I fought him recently and also as Melee character with the TMR Blade and he was ok.
He is a lot more tougher than in previous patches and his teleport ability is a bit too annoying.
Also he has now bloodstealing bats.
Like i said he is ok there is no need for change.

i rather harder bosses!i have played a weak malkavian  and still most of fights were too easy i guess evreyone playing anyother clan would have it much easier than i.i would say bat form needs some Fortitude

I agree with this. It would be weird but probably possible if it is possible for the gangrels in Hallowbrook Hotel (I just don't remember if any of them uses fortitude in war form). With guns in bat form he is a challenge but when he falls helpless hit by the light he is a piece of cake as Andrei is with flamethrower. My suggestion is that he could use Fortitude in his human form, lets say when he loses half of his health which will prolong a little bit the fight. And I agree that he could be annoying with this shadow teleportation of him but at the same time quite predictable because he appears behind player back.

I cannot agree with this. In fact guns are quite useful in some situations with supernaturals. Also Jack warns the PC that guns are not so useful against other vampires, but they can be lifesavers against the biggest Tzimisce creations, Ming Xiao and the Telyav Sabat. Also they a quite useful in SoL monastery.

Thanks for all the work, Wesp5. Your patches makes the game so much more fun to play. No more gamebreaking bugs and the additional quests are great, especially Becketts library quest.

For Dominate I like the solution of replacing Suicide with Sleep and keep Mass Suicide.

About the Sheriff: with the last patch, I still found the fight hard, but the Sheriff is still glitchy in my game, so that is probably my personal hardmode here. Him having Bats communion should make it even more challenging, I guess

This song was only placed appended on the last radio broadcast file and even after Smaller God (which was already present in one or two levels). And that was a sad choice in my opinion. This song, if placed anywhere more handy not only would have been awesome (it's one of the best songs. Fuck, that's even my favourite). But also it could did made justice to an emerging band which soon after 2004 vanished.

I edited Lecher Bitch with audacity, removing the weird outro (anyone knows what's she saying?!) and added it. It adds a nice touch to the anarch's haven

Maybe Wesp could find a more better fitting place.
My first idea would be the Red Spot. I could imagine that Slater would listen to this song on his night shift.
The radio should be first silenced otherwise it would be to annoying.
But the benefit of a turning off radio would be that the radio loop won´t repeat itself. And if Spicoli is in Red Spot it would also less annoying.
A repeating Deb and Spicoli is sometime really painful.
Edit: By the way isn´t Spicoli one of Debs callers? If he is well it makes no sense if he is at same time in the Red Spot and
also speaking to Deb.

You can do it yourself if you want it really bad, and if you have this particular audiofile. Just put "Die My Darling - Needle's Eye.mp3" in Vampire/sound/music/licenced folder and edit /unofficial_patch/sound/schemes/hw_redspot.txt like this

Because this is neither a fix nor a restoration and many people think the patch shouldn't do other things. Also each hub has two radio show places, so why should I remove one from Hollywood only for a song that you would hear over and over again when shopping?

A list of the possibilities we came up:

- on the cabbie's taxi (which I forgot to point out I mean when he's taking you to Lacroix but I don't know if it's possible to do that
- at the Empire Hotel (added by me now :P)

I think Wesp's solutions (or the last one) seems the best ones.
And I think Wilhelm is saying the pier is a place too soft for a heavy song like this.

Interesting! I never knew Troika just created a sound file with two songs, because usually I don't stay long enough in a map to notice. Maybe the Darling song would be better in a club that way.

@Wilhelm, you can turn on or off any radio in the game. Apart from the haven I know this to be true for Arthur's, Lucky Star and Red Spot. Don't recall if there are other radios in the game.

@Wesp: with a bit of scripting (or map editing in case of the music done as ambient_generic instead of sound_scheme) you can play one track at the first visit and another one on the second visit.

On another matter. Since you have included many options to give used quest items to various npcs, why not give Virgil Crumb's licence back to Knox after dealing with the asian vamp?

Except for the music only radios, like at the pier or the museum. And the normal ones stay off and there is no hint in the game files that the caller is Spicoli. After all several people voiced multiple characters...

No need, I have decided for keep the song at the pier for now. As for unused Rik Schaffer pieces, these were not in the game, only all the licenced stuff. After all why would they pay and not include them ;)?

Well its Brian Mitsoda who voiced Spicoli and also Caller 1 on Loop 4.
Its true that several people including Brian have voiced several people but this guy and Spicoli have the same manner.

I never dropped items in any games out of fear that it could crash the respective game.

I never dropped items in any games out of fear that it could crash the respective game.

I never had this happen in Bloodlines, rather the opposite, you get problems if your inventory is too full! Which is the only reason I finally made it possible with Knox. Malkav, can you please check the attached file for problems as this was a really stupid amount of work! While I was at it, I also made Luca take your invitations :)...

Okay, I have checked it. You had forgotten some brackets. While I was at it I have also streamlined the conditions a bit and made cosmetic changes, i.e. moved the "not yet" lines below all the "it is done" lines.
I hope I haven't overlooked something. Maybe someone can doublecheck?

There are others, like Milligans card or the Gallery money box, but I don't see where you could give them away unless I just make them disappear when the quests are over.

Yeah i have forgot Milligans card but maybe Pisha could also take it away like Milligans driver licence.
Maybe you could also use Pisha 156  for his card.

But the Brother Salvage card on the other hand. Would this be a good idea if it disappears after the serialkiller quest is done?
I mean what happens if the player stores it before?

Random suggestions:
- it's possible changing the savage bros card from a item to one of those text notes you can only read but not pick up (like the mercurio note in your haven). That's also a good hack for all those items wasting spece in your inventory, like diaries, the warren inspector logbook.... Plus it's not like anyone would miss them
- about the giovanni invitations, why not merging it as one envelope containing both? Unless you already fixed that of course

Sadly this isn't possible, as there are no lines left and most of the times you don't get his licence anyway.

I don't really know. While it might make sense that the Giovanni invitation vanishes during a cutscene in which you leave the mansion, in those cases the items would just illogically disappear from your inventory! I think these two last business cards should be no problem...

According to the dialogue file he should say this if you set him free and then talk to him again. But if I remember correctly a cutscene is triggered then, so I may restore this elsewhere, like at the diner...

Why illogically?
Like in real life the player can simply destroy (offscreen) these business cards after fulfil their (quest) meaning.
This would basically the same as the Giovanni invitations. ;)

1. No, not removing, convert it. Instead of taking it and placing it in the inventory you just see the flyer and then put it back (like the drawing in the ocean hotel):

Speaking of which, I searched for some more but I haven't so much time lately, so I hope someone else will do it since I won't.... Sorry :(

One last thing I've found, Mira at the Giovanni mansion has one line partly in italian, but the translation is a bit inexact. Line 21, her response to female seduction: "Và a farti fottere!" (with the "à", not "a'") shouldn't be translated as "Go and get fucked!" but "Go fuck yourself!"

These Giovanni didn't exactly speak italian.... Fuck, every vowen's accent is wrong LOL

Well, if you mean copying them as new lines (instead of using these which really probably will screw the game) to add more dialogue then yes it's possible and no it's outside the concept of the UP

I don´t want them to be dialogues with playeranswers. I thought that they could used more as automatic floats.
Yukie battle sounds would also make her fights more atmospheric.

Most important NPCs also have kind of back-up lines like "I will send you an email." "Yes." "No." "Take this." etc, and I wont restore them either...

Is there a reason LaCroix's tower is referred to as Venture Tower in the savegame slots - isn't it supposed to be Ventrue?

Of course these generic ones aren´t that interessing or make any sense for characters like "Lu Fang send you email"
but battle sounds and death sounds /screams could be worth  to restore if they weren´t already be used.
