Poster Session / Tap Hotel Issue

I've just fired up VTMB for the first time ever using the Unofficial Patch - so far it's been amazing. I am having an issue, however, where Gary is not retrieving Tap Hotel from my mailbox. I received his email - and there is a quest in my log telling me to leave the tape in my mailbox (I don't remember there being an actual quest before, maybe that's new with the patch?) I have tried both mailboxes in Santa Monica and Downtown havens, I have played around with reloading / restarting the game after and before leaving the tape. I even left the tape, forgot about it, finished Chinatown, and when I went back, the tape was still just sitting in my mailbox.

This quest isn't exactly integral to the plot or anything, but I understand that the patch added a bunch of new posters and I wanted to see them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am not above using a console command to progress the quest to the next step.

The solution is simple. Open the console and use the command G.CD = 1 , the tape will be  gone when you get out and return to the haven. The quest will continued. Now use the command G.CD = 2 to put back the value of the variable.

Another way(the good way) is open Vamputil.py with notepad search for: G.CD == 1 change the first equal with > so you will have G.CD >= 1 save the file and play, the bug will be gone now and  for all your futur play. That's good for Wesp too if he has not do it already!

That's good for Wesp too if he has not do it already!

I already fixed that using G.CD > 0, but it's basically the same. There also was an issue in one of the 10.1 RCs where you need to replace G.PQ with G.CD in vamputil.py...

But DDLullu, as I just have your attention and as you are our favorite model specialist :), I have problems with the Gangrel clan models. Maybe you can help me here:

- In the Masquerade cutscene both female and male Gangrel models are invisible! I didn't test all other clans but the ones that I tested worked fine.

- If you look at the character sheet while in warform mode, the model is frozen! I already tried to use your injector tool, but it didn't seem to work.

The injector work great for me.  What is the animalism_baastform for?

I have try  the gangrel with the map command with the masquerade_map they both show correctly.

Maybe you try something differently?

The baastform is the old bat warform still used for enemies on the Venture Tower roof. And indeed I had the models swapped in the injector, now it worked fine :)!

Yes, they do then. But try getting there out of the game, like setting vstats get masquerade 5 and then breaking it on a hub!

I never touched them, which is why there are two beastform models in the patch now. I didn't know about the background though, I just assumed they are somehow connected to the Sheriff :)! I think this also explained why Troika used them as Gangrel warform. They probably didn't finish the intended wolf warform in time and just took these as a last resort solution!

I also think that they are connected to the Sheriff (probably he embraced them). That is one of the reasons I think the Sheriff is Bonsam.

Update on the Gangrel model and warform issues: If you turn into the warform on the pier and look at it in the character sheet, it's completely messed up even after using the sheet injector! Also I have the impression that the injected models transform rather worse than the originals in a lot of flickering. This does not seem to be connected with the missing Gangrel models in the Masquerade cutscene, as e.g. the Nosferatu is shown fine, even when getting there after a final Protean breach...

For the protean invisible gangrel i have put a delay of 1.8 sec in the Start_Masquerade  in the masquerade map and the gangrel is now visible on my computer (perhaps 2 sec will be best?)

And maybe you will have to use the env_fade at the start because of the delay to start the execution.

Okay, that works. Can you do the same fix for the original bat warform model too, please? I think I will swap both normal Gangrel models for a standing one though, as it looks weird to have them crouched and the warforms not :)! This still does not fix the blocky model on some of the maps though, like e.g. on the pier it's messed up but e.g. in Ox's shop it looks fine...

I'll try that. I almost suspected something like that but then the Nosferatu looked right even after a warform change. Any idea why the Gangrel models would take longer than all the others?

I have strip the LOL from the beastform and put the nosferatu crouching animation in the MDL.
The correction for the LOL is done in the VTX files. So you can choose the MDL you want, the malk animation or the nosferatu one.

The nosferatu form is below with the VTX and the malk form animation is up.

You misunderstood me. The version with the Malk animation is fine, but I also want to have that for the original batlike warform. Which is called baastform.mdl in my patch, so can you please fix that like you fixed the wolf?

The Sheriff is not a Bonsam. The Bonsam are all long, long gone by the time of Bloodlines. They've been gone for several centuries.

Also, we didn't even invent the Bonsam until a decade after Bloodlines had come out, so it was certainly not Troika's intent.
