Model request to DDLullu and others!
« on: March 01, 2019, 01:24:22 PM »
Hi Dan, I hope you are reading this. Psycho-A just made me aware that there is indeed a texture for the Giovanni spirit that attacks you if you break a tomb in their crypt. Sadly the texture does not fit the model, can you please fix that? Or some of the other reskin people around ;)? Here are model and texture paths:

models\scenery\misc\gio_spirit\gio_spirit.mdl
materials\models\scenery\misc\gio_spirit\gio_spirit (current translucent texture)
materials\models\scenery\misc\gio_spirit\giospiritbody (better looking texture)

Maybe the texture must just be rearranged. I tried turning and mirroring it already...

Ohhh! That would be very nice!

I used a NPC like a giovanni spirit for ww2 mod V3.

The spirit is orange since material preview is transparent-blue

I'm on the job!
I already tried using colored block squares as a temporary texture and not only saw the disposition is completely messed up but also how (roughly) it should be. Tomorrow I'll do more tests and, if nothing went wrong, I'll upload the first tryout

Cool! May I ask how you do that? What tools you are using? When there is one thing about Bloodlines that I don't know much about it's models ;).

Nothing particular. This guide from a KotOR mod explains the nice trick I'm using:

I have made a new MDL trying to correct the UV. Results are below.

Hahahaha !
Great! It was taking so long to redistribute the texture while it was quicker and better to fix the model  :vampwink:

Wonderfull! I will include it in the next patch version, many thanks.

BTW, there are two more objects that have cool textures but no models at all. Do you think you can do something about those?

* Old fridge (objects\fridge_door + fridge_side + fridge_inside).
* Movie projector (objects\projector + projector_wheel).

Just for the record (and in case it might help someone else), how I managed to redo the torso and how I was going to make poorly the rest: I replaced the texture file with the Base.png texture. Then I opened the model, looked for the pattern (Color.png) and started deleting unused areas for better understand the pattern (New pattern.png). The last part of this aborted test was placing the torso (Torso done.png) since it was the easiest part. The rest was a chaos, most of all the head. With this model it would have took ages, but in others (and not only on Bloodlines) can be at least easier.

DDLullu, it seems you don't read your PMs here (or I forgot to send one ;), but can you please do the same fix you did for the payphone animation to the phoning animation of Wong Ho? The mobile phone is disappearing and appearing in his hands during the whole conversation...

I was looking through previous patch notes recently and one thing get my attention. In the file features the video of fixed Lily's barber chair I noticed that DDLullu played as Poison Ivy. I got a question. HOW?! Whom should I sell my soul to be able to do that? What kind of magic it is? It surely was a real gameplay.

All you have to do is find a model on the internet and recompile it for Bloodlines. The model is a port from Gary's mod. The compiler is a HL2 compiler, it spit a version 48 model. I found it in a Spycho_A batch converter for Resurgence! The other ingredient is a converter for the VVD and VTXs to make a Bloodlines model!

I choose the Brujah female MDL for this. So my model get the squeleton, hitboxs, animations, etc from the Brujah female MDL, only the VVD part and the materials are modified to fit the new model.

For the hair i use the ponytail of Pisha. Add the jigglebone's data into the MDL by hand(for the hair and boobs), fix the eyes positions by trials and errors (wish i could use the compiler for this).

The converter is not perfect but for a PC model it's all right.

I dont knows if i could upload poisonivy model here but i make the Noshood from that thread:
https://forums.planetvampire.com/bloodlines-modding/i-need-help-with-modeling-(blender-compiling-model)/msg144163/#msg144163
since i have no smd i make one from the gangrel armor3 and nosferatu armor0, compile the thing, result in the attachment. So you'll know it works!

For the keen eye you will detect a bump in the arm of the nos when he's feeding. No problem, reload the smd in Blender(i use version 276).
I suspect the bip0 bone for doing this and i was right. Three vertices from the arm was control by it so a erase the selections for that bone, save the corrected smd and recompile. A perfect arm in game, i'm begining to like a compiler for Bloodlines.
