Camarilla Edition Night at the Library Quest
« on: July 29, 2019, 05:13:24 PM »
So... if I'm reading the quest description right, the smoke shop, coffee shop, and pier part of this quest are entirely skipped, and you go straight to the Library. I did, and the entrance was unlocked. The problem is that I can't find the library card... at all. It's nowhere in the actual library, including on the desk in the hollow book (that was moved to the room with the computer I need to use, and it had a tarulfang?... no, I don't think that was it... but it was a talisman of some kind... in it, IIRC). So do I have to go to the other locations, first, to get it? Is it somewhere else?

The usual console code gave me the pull toy, BTW, and going through the items folder, I can't find the item text for it... at all.

But I can't use the computer without the card.

I'm not aware that the Camarilla Edition even includes the library quest. Did you merge some mods here that shouldn't be merged?

Not that I'm aware of. Like I've said... I got VTMB through GoG (although I'm really upset with that forum right now, TBH... some gross people there... but anyways). CE installed into it the way all the mods that support the modloader do. I got the email from Beckett, but he just wants me to find his friend who went to the library and then disappeared. Said nothing about the smoke shop. I get into the library just fine, but there's no library card anywhere.

Very weird, maybe Malkav knows more about this. In the meantime, here is the console command for the card in the UP: give item_w_claws_protean4

Of course I was looking in the wrong item sheets. I was looking at the item_g's, not item_w's. That's it in CE, as well. Thank you!

Do you mean Clan Quest? Because the final release of Camarilla Edition was made way before the library was even created (and CQ comes with an optional CE)

Nope. I definitely mean the Camarilla Edition. Even the loading screens say that that's what I'm playing.

And the villain I had to defeat in the Library?

Andrei. Although he did have the other guy's dialog except for an added bit at the end... something like "behold as I transform into the visage that will destroy you"... that's... not an exact quote... at which point he goes into a bloodform and attacks me. It was actually a decently hard battle (I'm not playing this version with cheats... yet).

Straight up killed him this time, so I have no clue who I'll be fighting in the Hollowbrook Hotel.

Might have to message Malkav. It seems super weird that nobody else seems to know about this. Perhaps it's a super recent update?

Yes, there is an ancient version of the library quest in CE. The card must be hidden somewhere in the reading room but I don't recall where. All I could find out in a hurry is that it has sparkleys with inspection 8.
I don't recall any more, I don't even remember when I have played CE the last time...

It depends. In newer version the card is indeed hidden in the book on the counter, but if the CE version is even older, it may just lay around on some stepladder way back between some bookshelves...

Ah yeah, those times I found that card in the backstage of the empire hotel concert hall with the description "there's no library level. Yet" or something that
