"sainthidsys" - BSOD - any fix
« on: August 25, 2007, 08:22:00 am »
                Hi there,

This morning, I installed the latest unofficial patch (4.0). Previously, I've never had any problems with the unofficial patches. But now, when I try to alter the screen resolution from the 'default' 800 X 600 it always starts with - and then quite the game in order for the changes to take effect - I instantly get a BSOD and the following message:

 "sainthid.sys
 Page_Fault_In-Nonpaged_Area"

According to Google, etc, this is a reference to my wireless Saitek Gamepad. Any idea why my Gamepad - so to speak - is causing "Bloodlines" to crash in this manner?

For your info, I use the Refresh Rate Override in "dxdiag" - and have set it at 75, which is my desktop refresh rate. I have to do that, otherwise my monitor goes 'crazy' when I start up "Bloodlines".

 Here are my specs: XP Home+Vista Ultimate (32 bit) \ AMD64 X2 4200+ \ 4 X 512 DDR (400mhz) \ BFG 7900GS OC 256mb \ Soundblaster Audigy SE \ 2 X SATA+1 X IDE ATA HDD (=520g) \ Thermaltake TWV 430w \ Speedtouch 510 v6

I look forwaard to hearing from you,

 all the best,
