I had things set so that, given a storystate of 45 or higher (so after meeting Gary), if both sisters are alive, then they start sending a couple of emails discussing their plans for expansion.

X20 Mod 0.10 is now available!

It's now in two downloads (with apologies to Wesp). X20 Basic is just textures and can likely be used with any mod, like the Clan Quest Mod, without breaking anything. X20 Plus includes changes to computers, dialogue, and scripting, and is intended for use with UP 10.1. Running X20+ with any other mod will almost certainly break something, so I cannot recommend it.

Either download works fine on its own, but for the optimal experience, use them both together.

Changelog:

  • Improved appearance of loading screens from 0.07 (shrimp, smeared blood)
  • Improved loading bar for widescreen
  • Medical chest from Prescribed Substances now branded from Panacea.
  • Elizabeth Dane security screens now 4x original resolution, better angle on sarcophagus
  • Fat Larry's (Basic location) truck now has graffiti identifying it as a weapons cache for Imbued
  • Troika billboard now advertises Abrams Jewelry
  • Simon Milligan's business card now correctly says Skyeline, and has a downtown ZIP code

Embarassing slip-up: In the X20+ Mod  download, I had one of the folders marked "hackerterminals" and not "hackterminals," a mistake I thought I had corrected internally weeks ago. Whoops.

I've uploaded a replacement file with the correct folder breakdown.

If you've already downloaded it, you can just move files from one folder to the other manually, or you can re-download if you prefer.

Does anyone know offhand if the second round of posters appears anywhere outside the haven? I know the Imalia poster (pinup) is in Carson's place. The Imalia-altered poster of Tawni (tawni_poster_imalia) is in her own haven, but I don't think the unaltered poster (tawni_poster) is anywhere. Same with the Claira Killenbach poster: there's a bloody version in DMP (poster1), but I don't think the clean version (poster1a) is used anywhere.

What about the eyeless "don't drive blindly" poster (poster3a)? I was sure I'd seen that somewhere, but I haven't stumbled across it on my current playthrough.

The clean version of the "Get Amped Up on Amp Beer" poster is indeed in DMP, but as of UP 10.1 it's no longer part of Gary's quest, so I'm not too worried about it right now. Thanks, though!

Does anyone know where to find the texture for the background in the character creation quiz? The florid scrollwork in the background of the attached screenshot? I tried looking in the folders I thought most obvious and nothing's jumping out at me.

After my success in upping the resolution of several other textures -- clan symbols, haven posters, bus stop maps, etc. -- I figured I'd try my hand at doing the same for the bus shelter posters.

The textures of the posters themselves seem to work fine, but the lighting effect which makes the posters look backlit... doesn't. See attached image.

It looks like the lighting overlay is still assuming the original texture size, so it's only covering about 1/4 of the area that it's supposed to, in the upper-left corner.

I had assumed that postergen1_ref.ttz was the file responsible for this lighting overlay, and I upped the resolution on that too, but it hasn't changed the in-game appearance at all. Is another file responsible for the lighting? Or is it something that would have to be changed with the model or level, and thus not something I can change just by mucking with textures?

It's the alpha channel. You must resize it the same as your new texture.

With my paint program i save the original small alpha to disk and with the bigger texture, i load the same small alpha but use the option 'fit to layer'.
If i use the option 'as is' i obtain your small light in the corner. Simple fix if you ask me.

I have make a picture to show the difference.

Sorry, to sneak into this thread, but from UP 10.3 on the plus patch includes improved credits of people who helped me with the patch and I would like to get more real names there. IanW is obvious ;), but DDLullu, or Dan, if you want your full name in the credits, just send me a PM!
