Thank you! I still don't get the note.
What is supposed to be the trigger?

Finally I found it. It was the wrong scrypt command... my bad, sorry.
Here's a new file.
Copy/Paste these ones into your "War_Games" folder with replacement.

Thank you, Avadonica! That did it. The note spawned on the bed for some reason but who am I to complain? ^^

Room 207 became accessible after reading the note and I could finally talk to my Sire.

The adventure continues. Better update the link on moddb, though. 'cos War Games v5.3 cannot be completed right now.

Edit: I had to leave the Hotel then come back to make the note spawn. In other words if your last save was in the Hotel, leave the map then come back to make the change effective.

A couple of issues I was told about:

- a "failed to Find steam" CTD, I suggested to install the latest patch which it wasn't done, but it was mentioned the OS is Windows 11. Does the UP made some particular changes to run on that OS?

- "I started clan Malkavian. During the first dialogue with the sire i chose 2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 and then the next line is "I do not have a valid reply" and the the conversation resets. Afterward i chose 2-2-1-3-1-1-1-3-2-1 and moved towards the conversation with the Mary. Unfortunately after i use the only option 1 i get the same message and cannot continue"

No, but in case of that error the player should copy steam.dll over into the game folder.

Stuff I ran into so far,
Portsmouth.
I had to get right up to the Portsmouth Hotel door to continue walking inside.
Otherwise I was stuck inside and could only turn. Had to noclip out of it.

Savage. Walking up the stairs a part of the support was flickering.

Crazy AI. Bum walked a few steps up a lightpole then walked back down. :)

Paris.
Got kicked out of the game going thru the alley between the streets.
Sold some stuff and tried again. No problems since.

Paris Nazi base. Upstairs a flickering door top. Can't remember exactly where.

Okay! I have a notable problem with a sidequest in Paris.

tl,dr: I cannot enter the room to talk to Senad Cross.

Long story: I like to do the Taina Castle Quest, I like it very much. Also getting the Katana early (or was it a Shin Gunto?) is a major incentive ^^. Anyways I always take this sidequest from Prince Villon when available. Thing is: after I talk to the black bodyguard standing before the double doors there's a cutscene. Then I can't move anymore, finally the game hangs up completely (total freeze).

So my question is: can anyone else confirm this bug? If not then maybe that's a problem with my save...

It worked fine for me.
It is different starting outside the castle.
I couldn't get Alice to help me but Darao did.
I'll try again later.

Thank you for the heads-up. I've tried all my backup saves from previous missions to no avail.
I suppose my saves got corrupted when I tried to update War Games to v5.3.4.

Anyways from what I've played, War Games v5.3 is a better experience. Many things (small or major) are sweet. For instance:

- no more stuttering in hub1 Portsmouth near the construction site (I had extreme stuttering in previous versions).
- the hotel room belonging to the female spy has changed for the best. Now the room is more spacious and better designed.

No problem Croc.
Problems with Darao entering his haven.
If I am directly behind and next to him everything is fine in the next map.
If I lag behind him then the screen goes crazy in the next nap.
If I am a little to the side of him I am stuck in a shelf in the next map.
I can noclip to fix it.

Hello to all =)

No, but in case of that error the player should copy steam.dll over into the game folder.
Do I need to include this file in this build? And if so, where can I get it if I don't have the steam version of the vanilla game?

Paris Nazi base. Upstairs a flickering door top. Can't remember exactly where.
The Paris map will be rebuilt presumably in 5.4. Portsmouth Hotel - I'll recompile this map if the problem is really in it.
Paris Nazi base and Savage maps - I will keep them in mind, perhaps I will also rebuild them over time.
Funny bug with the bum - I'll take a look.

So my question is: can anyone else confirm this bug? If not then maybe that's a problem with my save...
I'm glad you like this little quest and the new changes made in 5.3.
Please don't use the old save games to play at actual 5.3. This can lead to negative consequences, such as glitches and bugs that, apparently, you have already met...

I'll look at these problems this weekend, and I'll try to upload new files here for testing. Thank you both so much for your help in finding bugs!
