World of darkness Mod
« on: April 14, 2012, 01:48:12 AM »
Hey there vampire fans! I am developing a new mod called world of darkness. Basically what I’m doing is going to add features to the game that make it more realistic. Like feeding and how much you can drain from a victim according to real world rules. I’ll be adding other features such as a new discipline called sharper senses and even adding a new keui jinn death animation. I will also make the werewolf a fightable boss and your success depends on whether or not you’re powerful enough and if you have silver weapons or guns which I shall be implementing into the game.

As a bonus I will be adding content from vtm redemption such as npcs like Christof who can train u, give u quests and rewards and even accompany you on quest.

I shall even add new histories such as "Christof Romuld bloodline"

I also got permission from dheu to work on companion mod and add it to this one. That means more companions, new embrace options and even a romance quest or two.

some other extras I will be adding are a bank account which you can withdraw cash and deposit from, it will be a Lacroix foundation account of course and if you play ball with the prince he will make regular deposits’ for his best agent.
A Smartphone shall be added to the game so you can check your email and receive quests on the fly.
if you play nice with the prince and don’t join the anarachs he will send you an email to become his personal assassin for both political reason, which will be a secret of course and blood hunts will be annually called for masquerade violators.  I will also include content from the core books and clan books and even add new npc foes.

Diablerie will also be a new feature basically you will be able to feed of vampire npc (most sabbot and bosses) haven’t figured out the bonuses and setbacks but hey it’s a work in progress. Oh and btw I shall be adding a loading screen tip that says that when a vampire is done feeding all he has to do is lick the wound and it shall heal, this is part of the lore as most of you know. So with that in mind I will be adding a new sound effect for biting a victim which will sound like blood splattering and draining, and then when you stop feeding a healing sound similar to the effects from the x men films will occur (wolverine healing)

This mod has allot to be done but I will get it to the masses as soon as possible

If you want to help and be a part of this brand new mod the by all means private message I and we can discuss how you can help. I need people who are good at what they do if I am to get this mod out sooner, I can’t do it all by myself and have an early release. So please feel free to join and you shall reap the rewards!

Feel free to check out my site on moddb.com to see that this is legit

Please post and make comments and suggestions, please no negativity.

Check it out!   :cometome:

and hopefully if this is a success i can ask burgermeister to add this to clan quest!

heres hoping for a brighter future

If you manage to do that, please post the solution here because I tried to do this in vain for the Unofficial Patch...

Off course you can use the Unofficial Patch as a base and you should do so, to avoid the bugs of the original game. As far as I know all big mods out there are based on the UP in one version or the other. I would recommenc to wait for 8.0 though, which should be released very soon!

I just couldn't get him to register damage at all! It seems the model has no bounding box or whatever, so that I just couln't get him killed...

As I wrote, I suspect the issue is connected to the werewolf model itself and thus not solveable unless you can fix that. As for the histories, check out traiteffects000.txt.

I think he meant new stories for the characters to live, not new background history :D

Maps and NPC's from redemption can't be added to bloodlines. But sounds, sure, aslong as they are  in the correct format. Any sound can be aslong as its in the correct format.

Werewolf = no hitbox to take damage if I remember correctly. Atleast, way back when I added an health bar etc. All efforts ended in vain to get the sucker to take damage with a lot of trial and error.

Getting at the textures in redemption I'd guess would be easy enough. But finding a base model, replacing textures and resizing them(I dont know anything about redemption textures) then tweaking the model to look like him would take a lot of work. Its not worth it, IMO, As so many things could go wrong.

You had already answers.

Damn you should read the basic modding tips, posted everywhere on the forum, telling you the tools and everything.

Skins : JFGI, it's been posted also everywhere. You can't just take stuff from Requiem, copy them in bloodlines directories, and expect it to work. I won't. It's not the same game. You'll have to make the whole skin yourself, then have the lip movements, then debug it, then use the proper resolution...

No one I can think off except lenuska.   What I have to say is already accessible via search using the search term Blender and I'm not prepared to walk you through it.. Most, if not all questions you have should be addressed one way or another.

One thing I don't think I've seen mentioned is that you will need a version of Blender prior to 2.50 (2.49 is good to go) as the import / export scripts won't work due to them changing everything and the scripts need rewritten for the new Blender script system to function. Current Blender version is 2.62 unless they updated it in the last week.
