There were two options in the installer.

 One was

 Camarilla + Companion Mod

 other is

Companion Mod Updated for 6.9 Patch (good for old powers)

 which one did you choose?

I'm quite sure i chose the right one. I get the CE 1.2 loading screen background and hacking is linked to int, not wits. But the disciplines are completely standard. Perhaps something got mixed up when i was asked to install Wesps patch first and didn't shut your installer down while doing so.
I'll try again and come back.

I'd recommend running wesp installer first. then exit it and run mine.

Make sure to select the first option in mine or you will get standard disciplines.

I'm sure i did everything in the correct order now,
First a new copy of the game, then Wesps patch, then yours including the update. And i know I've chosen CE+Comp Mod. Still I get the CE 1.2 loading screen, active bloodloss, hacking related to int, but still the standard disciplines. Autoexec.cfg shows the toggle walk/run and auto walk, and in the options menue aute renewal is closed down as it should be for CE. Or do the right ones only show up after you went through the tutorial?

I'm playing a malk, but i've checked for brujah and ventrue just now too. It's the same for these clans. I thought it might be traitseffects000 and/or clandoc000. But i put in both files from CE, and started a new game. It's still only the standard disciplines.

Thats werid i Haven'et been able to replicate it, i tried a fresh install and it works for me.
be careful with clandoc000.txt if its wrong it will crash you after a level or two. The disciplines are mainly stored in disciplinetgt_000-004.txt

Only thing i can imagine is possibly a windows error that has for some reason made those files write protected with file corruption.

You could try installing it again to another fresh install at a different directory. But it should be working.

 Anyone else having issues?

And you did start a new game right, previous saves sometimes have issues?

If it is hard drive issues may want to go to the start menu, type:
 cmd
 chkdsk C: /X /R

Where C: is the drive vampire is on, can substitute other letters.

If that doesn't work and on xp or 2000 can take ownership of the files
when a cmd window is up type:
 cacls C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\*.*  /T /C /P Everyone:F

or if vista or seven type
 icacls C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\*.* /grant Everyone:(CI)(F) /T

Speaking of your problem, I had an idea I was wondering if anyone would be interested in all the other features of the camarilla mod + Companion Mod with the old disciplines intentionally put there?  I could make another utility patch with that option quite quickly and update it for the next upload of the big installer (won't take up much more space the way the installer is setup), or will I gather zeromorphs ire lol?

Yes, I was thinking about rules.txt and the disciplinetgt files as well. So i just dumped the whole \vdata\system folder from my CE installation on it for testing and got the disciplines strait. I know, it will interfere with CompMod, but i installed the whole thing mostly out of curiosity anyway.
Perhaps i'll try a new installation sometime.

                Drathian,

This sounds pretty kick ass from everything I can tell. I'm at work right now, but I'm checking this out to be sure, when I get home!

I've been kind of working on a similar endeavor, with merging most of the mods so far into one package. Only difference: I've entertained the idea of merging CompMod, but have no concrete plans as of yet, because it's a big undertaking with the other mods (particularly my own, Clan Quest Mod).

Anyways, if you need any tips, let me know. I'm pretty busy with personal life + poudning on my own project, so I likely won't get to involved, but would be happy to offer advice.

I have noticed the same problem as Malkav, too... Could it be because I am playing the European version? I choose english language, tough...

                mdqp,

I know the files are there because I've tested it which is quite peculiar. I'm running windows 7:64bit so I'm going to test it by booting in vista and xp, but it should be the same. Try downloading that vdata.zip and extract the folder and see if that makes any difference, make sure to overwrite everything.  If it is a European glitch perhaps the vdata folder and/or contents are set to read-only on that version (or god forbid if its vista/seven a Trusted Installer permission issue).  If you are Vista/Seven try running as Administrator the installer though it should be by default. Or if on vista/seven install the game outside of program files, I'll still look into it, Weird.

If changing OS doesn't replicate the  issue i suppose I'll have to find a European version for further testing.

Oh if you a running the steam version I can't assure compatability they did some core changes to certain files, but someone that has it figures it out let me know.  I may look into that eventually anyways.

 -----------------------

 Burgermeister,

With your permission when you release your new mod I can look at it and hopefully be able to make an addon patch for the features of companion mod (ie: I'll do the work for you I'm pretty fast with this), I can also make an uninstaller so that people if they have problems will be able to revert back to your heavily tested version.

 Tech Related:
Only thing i seem to have trouble with in the companion mod is the clandoc000.txt, it has to be in a specific format i believe for the python scripts to read it properly (or it will cause crashes), but i can make an attempt anyhow.  I may look at it again nonetheless on my version in an upcoming utility patch (and update the main download if successful), but I'll need to test that some first. I only have 2 testers besides myself.

The files are there, I opened the file disciplinetgt_002 and I can see the lines are changed, but when i try to use the points on the disciplines I can see only the old descriptions and the old disciplines, and the same things happen during the game... I have Vista, but I have no authorization problems, since I disabled the automatic user authorization and I have administrator privileges (never had problems previously, at least)... I tried to uninstall/reinstall, but I had the same problems... I' ll try to install the game in a different folder, I will let you know if it works...
P.s. I already tried to extract the vdata.zip in the Vampire folder, no different results...
P.p.s. I also have a problem with the new loading screens: they are from the Camarilla Edition Mod, if I am not wrong, since last time I installed it, the loading screens were also distorted, but the new disciplines were there...
P.p.p.s. When I start the game from the desktop, I get a list of errors from the console: most of them are "unable to open..." followed by the files path (they are mostly from the "vdata" folder).

I'll be back in a couple of hours and I'll have a look at it all again.  Don't worry too much, if its fixable I can do it, I'm sorry for a seemingly unpolished release but i don't have many testers, and for them it worked ok.

You already did a great job and I am sure you will find a solution! Anyway, this seems something weird, you couldn' t foresee such a strange problem, so I wouldn' t even think of calling this an "unpolished release"! happy
