One note on the new reacquired from the latest beta of UP:

In vanilla vpk there are some reacquired wav files that have typo in the filename so they are probably never used in game: (see vpk contents)
female\asian\*reacquired*
male\asian\*reacquired*

And lip files in vanilla are there only for sabbat_thug and young_thug. All other were introduced by this project.

In other words just not having those reacquired files in UP at all should be fine for the final result. Only lip files for sabbat_thug and young_thug tp override vanilla reacquired lip files have some meaning in being included.

You are right, I better copy the original sounds over and rename them. In case we figure out how to avoid the other sound playing over them one fine day...

There are still a few active interjections with PHRASE contained. Most of them in female\unique but also few male. I had the full list prepared but I have lost it upon reboot. I remember Nadia, Mira, Misti being in the list.

Also there are many speaker_name being Male only while they could have been specified... hunter, officer, zombie are few I remember now. Sorry for not being specific but I am tired of going through all the lip files and losing the list in the end.

But we don't need to remove all of them, only those where your translation is problematic, no?

That was done on purpose because of possible issues with NPCs using the same sounds. Like the enemies in Vick's place, are these zombies? What about the Grout ghouls? Are the guards inside the museum officers or private security? Even with hunters, how would you recognize someone on a hub only from his voice?

I see. Glad you mentioned Grout ghouls. So you did not update all single NPC's soundgroups directly on the maps to use the new soundgroups which will override zombie soundgroups which is are being loaded from vpk still? Now I am do not recall if that occurs when transitioning without loading a savegame or after loading a savegame.

The stalker/croucher/mafia/hunter soundgroups are still used, but they are selected using the npctemplates because otherwise many maps would have needed to be edited. Still the scheme is that the speaker names are neutral male/female...

Yes, this has already be done some time ago! But again, they are just called male and female, not ghoul or croucher or stalker or maniacs or whatever these enemies are supposed to be...

Another detail I wanted to point out a long time ago but always forgot. Soundgroup museum_guard is used only by Empire hotel guards iianm. Those floats go mostly like "Get out of my way!" like if the NPC was walking. But those guards are standing still. Those sounds would be much better used in some other instances. I am thinking about those cops with sunglasses. Those basic officers in blue shirt may keep the goofy dub.

I have no problem with that, as the floats will only sound if the player bumps into the guards or is very close...

Well, I passed the game yesterday, and all floaters were correct and cool. Maybe it's just me, but every time I bump into someone, an appropriate response can be heard. Much respect for that. ;)
