My, I can see the amount of work and nerves that went into this...

I have a small goal myself in scope of translation. There is a model /models/scenery/structural/asphole/* that has this 3D neon title modelled in front of banner. I'd like to remove the neon 3D part and make the banner flat for flat texture. How hard would that be? Hopefully I don't have to study the whole guide for this.

So I have tried to follow this guide to accomplish the above...

Import of asphole.x to Blender was successful (used Packfile Explorer to extract asphole.x from pack004.vpk as it is just prop) but the immediate export fails still. Firstly, this guide mentions exporting to .mdlx and I don't have that option when using the latest scripts bundled with the latest UP. So I select the Bloodlines_ALL (.mdl) export and I get this error in console.

Code: [Select]
modifying MDL...
vert mdl:   2410
vertice:    2410
addr vert:  1824
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 184, in my_callback
File "<string>", line 148, in Export
struct.error: unpack str size does not match format

When I download the script from https://legacy.planetvampire.com/modules/files/view.php?id=482 and overwrite and re-update menu I have an option to Export to Bloodlines_mod (.mdlx) but it still fails with

Code: [Select]
modifying MDL...
vert mdl:   2410
vertice:    2410
addr vert:  1836
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<string>", line 158, in my_callback
File "<string>", line 132, in Export
OverflowError: float too large to pack with f format

What am I doing wrong and how I am supposed to understand this part:?

Not everything will work.
Try different scripts/combinations of VampEd or PackFileExplorer
until you get a combo that works for your current desired operation.

Hello!

Im really new to this modding thing but i would like to start try editing models. Im following your guide from the start and i got stucked in the first blender, 2,48 for model editing.
My problems is that canĀ“t import the scripts into the blender. There is no directory named scripts so i made one and put the "Full_Vamped_import.py" and "VampEd_mdl.py" files there.

Still i can not import them in Script window when i choose Update menus. It just said Invalid script.

Sorry for my rookines but what am i doing wrong?
My 3  alternatives in File/Import is only VRML 1,0 or DXF and STL.

How do i import the scripts so i can choose: File>Import>Vamp_Ed242?

Hello,
Would anyone here know how I can load up an entire area and edit its uv maps?

I scaled the texture for the alleyways In the first sre to 4x size however dispite the texture scaling I suspect the uv map did not and it's only mapping part of the texture so it's coming out extremely blurry..
