I'd hire and ghoul him in a heartbeat. Would you mind sharing this texture?

GOOD NEWS everybody. Also a bad one.

I've made huge progresses into restoring this mod. I've managed to reinsert haven posings, reenabled the facial modifier and backpacking (since someone might want them....) and fixed finally the possession system.

But now I've encountered an annoying bug. When I possess someone that guy doesn't have its own fists item which lets it fight. So if I equip my fists and unpossess the playable character loses them. There's some way to fix it? Maybe some script that checks if the active character has them or not and give the needed item? Or should I spawn the item from the console each time?

Thanks in advance for any help  :smiley:

I can take a look, but I don't want to download the whole mod. So if you could zip the python directory and a dialog that starts posession and upload it here or send to me via PM...

I've made a pack of the bare minimum files.

Use the Unofficial Patch 11.0.6 Plus as base.

There is only the Santa Monica hub map entity (other than the haven bum and Knox test dialogues), you'll have to either use the VPKTool or, better, the VTMBedit Tool to insert the map entity into the map. I tried to upload the map already patched but I received an error saying it was too big for the server, sorry everyone.

Any help from anyone is appreciated (and will be credited of course :wink: )

I can't be sure because there are so many different python files; and I don't want to test because I have a game in progress, so I don't want to edit maps.
If I understand your problem corectly, sometimes after posesing a companion, the pc has no fists. I think you can fix that if you edit def updateKeys(): in posessutil.py
just add
Code: [Select]
def updateKeys():
    pc=__main__.FindPlayer()
    doorkeys=__main__.G._pcinfo["doorkeys"]
    log("possessHelper : Restoring keys [%s]" % doorkeys)
    for doorkey in doorkeys:
        if not pc.HasItem(doorkey):
            pc.GiveItem(doorkey)
#check for fists, added by malkav
    if not (pc.HasItem("item_w_fists")):
        pc.GiveItem("item_w_fists")
# addon ended
    keyrings=__main__.FindEntitiesByClass("item_g_keyring")
    if len(keyrings) > 1: keyrings[1].Kill()

It works now. You're the best  :vampwink:

I will do a playthrough soon to test if the whole mod has other issues. If everything will be ok I will release the new files.

I found out another issue (luckily a small one since I've already uploaded the mod  :tongue: )

When I possess a companion it casts a red light on its own (see the screenshots). Do you think it can be fixed or we should leave it as it is?

If someone is interested the classic version has now a fix for modern computers

https://www.moddb.com/games/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines/addons/companion-mod-fix-for-the-mod-loader-and-modern-computers

You will need to have installed the mod loader from a mod or a patch but it seems to work
