Title: VTMB Bloodlines Model Editing Lessons
Post by: MooCHa on May 01, 2019, 10:44:05 pm
Hello fellow campers I thought I'd stick a few Blender Model editing vids together Today so anybody that fancy's a play around that feels daunted can get little insight. Not the most polished but will cover the basic of import edit export with a couple of tips.

The Vids contain import/export script setup in Blender. Import, edit, export of a model. .x/vpk Extraction regarding .mdl

What this will help you do is edit Jeanette's Model to give her no skirt and a Ponytail.

Very nice, many thanks! I hope people can learn from this, I don't have time or nerve to do modelling myself ;)...

MooCHa, you're suggesting to use ugly VampEd 0.92, but the Packfile Explorer from the SDK does the same exctracting from VPKs and exporting to .X.
Also, new SDK already includes both Blender 2.42 and its import-export srcipts.

It's what I choose to use and Blender 2.47 is a bit more updated where you see textures in edit mode where in 2.42 you can't as reported in another thread. In fact I've never used 2.42 ever so can't really comment on it. It's what I'm use to.

People can  use Packfile Explorer if they wish too.

Thanks for the tutorial, it has helped me a lot, I have already posted some models in Vampire Bloodlines Mod DB, I am like Marius217.
I have a doubt. How can I assign the textures to the Bone?
I want to make coats ... but I want that when the model walks the suit goes hand in hand and does not look too rigid.

Really thanks for your videos.
regards

Javier/Marius217,

Thanks for the kind words and am really happy you can make use of the video lessons.

Bare with me as I'm a little intoxicated.

We can't add new Physics as I'm aware of which would be the Cloth modifier in Blender so If it is rigid. Its rigid, hence , no coat movement :(

Assigning new textures(Materials) is Impossible as far as I know. If you take the Jack Tribal tattoo re skin I posted in the download section. I increased the width of the body texture file, copy and pasted the arm and moved all of the UV around so I could accommodate the new addition, so, You can add texture elements but not assign anything new.

Thank you! I have waited for these tutorials! And I have just one question. These scripts will work with 2.79 blender because I used to this version of blender.

Can you do a video about replacing a weapon? Or anything related to changing animations?

Animations are still impossible to modify :(....

No.

Sadly, I'm not doing anymore Video's. The Nostalgia has worn off and got other things to getting on with in life. Regarding animations, Barabbah has answered that question.

The videos are great.

Is it possible to adjust UVs in a model - I didn't see this in the videos, sorry if I missed it.

I've uploaded a UV tutorial as I think I only briefly touched on it. I can't remember what video so hopefully my waffling helps you out. A little tipsy with it being Xmas :)

Jack starts at 8:25 for reference.

Edit: I've just remembered why I don't use Packfile Explorer. It is Broken on export and remember having a conversation with the developer about it back in the day.

Thanks for doing this. I've been slowly working my way through the videos and am finding them quite good and am enjoying the experience... mostly... but not without moments of frustration.

I attached some images of the file I am working on.

Cool! So did you used the alternative sniper rifle texture for that?

I was looking for the rifle texture and found something named rifle_camo.tth but I don't know what it is for as it doesn't fit the Bach rifle. But yes I did steal the camo pattern and fit it into the rifle_bach.tth texture. I think I have spent more time in Gimp than Blender so far, so much to learn!

Greetings to all, See if you can help me. I have tried to get into Blender to modify some already established models. For example: shorten a character's coat and see that it works well in the Game. but when trying to Export the MDL Model I can't do it, I get: Model vertices Dont Macth Blender vertices.[/size]What can I do to make it work and fit the modified MDL file over the Original one?On the other hand, I have seen some models like the Lasombra 2 that are combined, the hat, the coat and the Character, they are independent of each other. How can I return the PC models in their entirety. since I can only transform the character but I cannot attract even the Hat and the coat. also when I use VAMPED 92 to export it to Blender.I hope you can help me. It really is frustrating. hahahahaha. A hug and stay safe.
