Questions From a Prospective Player
« on: September 11, 2012, 04:15:26 AM »
Hi there, you... guys.  I'm completely new to this, in fact I haven't even played the game, in fact I don't even have a PC, but from what I've seen it looks like loads of laughs.  Especially with what the community's managed to accomplish, I mean, here we are eight years after the fact and it's still being improved upon by you talented types.  Point is, I'm thinking of using Bootcamp on my Mac to play games like this, but some of the aesthetic elements are discouraging me.  Is modding applicable to a Bootcamp setup?  For example, could armor skins be shuffled?  Watching a playthrough, I couldn't help thinking how much more dignified that Nosferatu woman looked in the outfit immediately preceding the gimp wear.  And so long as I'm wishing, it might also be nice if her fingers didn't go right through her hands every time made a fist.  But could I hope for any of this on a Mac?

I hope I'm being cool here... I'm always wary of violating taboos on a new forum.  So if I'm asking stupid questions in the wrong place, hey, let me know.

Sounds like it should work fine. I know that VTMB works on Linux using Wine so I don't see why Boot Camp wouldn't work. The only problem I ran into with Wine was a case-sensitivity issue, but those can be sidestepped by using an HFS+ partition set to case-insensitive. But Boot Camp creates an NTFS partition for Windows anyway so that shouldn't be a problem.

As for switching the skins around and editing models, those should be totally possible. There's probably a tutorial thread around here somewhere. You can even look through here for models if you want to see what's out there.
Good night, forum. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.

Thanks, Cabal.  That's encouraging.
