Request for a Blood Free, Santa Monica Suties map
« on: February 21, 2014, 12:41:41 pm »
Are there any mappers who could/would make a new Blood Free map of the Santa Monica Suites, Mercurio's and Carson's apartment interior? It would be great to finally after 10 years start getting rid of all the Blood!   :vampwink:

Hopefully Wesp will include it in the Unofficial Patch, it seems it would fit nicely once we complete the Elizabeth Dane.

Thanks for any help!
Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

Well i managed to delete the blood on the floor/walls/doors quite easily, but not on the couch, it seems that its blood is part of the texture of the couch. Gonna see if i can replace it by a bloodless couch but my abilites with hammer don't go much far than deleting things and replace textures...

Or we could say that Mercurio got rid of his couch. Who would want to keep a bloody messy couch after all?

Sounds quite reasonable that Mercurio would get himself a new couch. But keep in mind that he can only do so if he's still around after you come back from downtown. So if your character has killed him or ratted him out to the prince, the inside of his apartment must stay bloodstained, but the coridor should be cleaned up.

If a a player kill or rats out Mercurio, why would he come back to the sm appartments? Even then, a genator could have cleaned up the place for a new tenant.

But i guess that the bloodfree map will be use as a "new" map, for after the warehouse or the dane, so the bloody one can still be used if the pc didn't keep Mercurio alive?

In either case a cleaner from LaCroix would have removed the mess. So I will swap the map regardless of what you did with Mercurio after G.Story_State 15. Great and fast work, Aloysius!

Yep, you're right. Of course LaCroix would send a cleaner. Who knows what other hints to something supernatural can be found in a ghoul's home.
It might be useful to add a new Story_State 12 "Talked to the prince after warehouse" and use that as trigger for the map change.

I have used story state 15 because this is the one which decides whether Mercurio is still there or not.

Yes I see why you choose this one. But when you get back to Santa Monica after talking to the prince, you can go to your haven and visit Mercurio's (empty) apartment before setting out to the beach and going to the Dane. That's why I suggested a new Story State for the redecoration.

hey great work everyone. It's funny because I am setting up a mod now to place cops in the apartments after you speak with Mercurio for the first time. They ask you about the blood and your response will of course determine what they do next. Feel free to run with that idea if you want.
