Replacing a model's hair
« on: March 03, 2020, 02:58:02 am »
I understand making drastic changes to character models such as swapping body parts is pretty much impossible due to the limitations of the models' format, but is there a way to replace the hair? I've seen a few modded models which had their hair replaced, such as a modded VV model with brand new long hair replacing the default female Toreador over at Moddb. I want to replace the default male Tremere's hair with the longer Toreador hair from a modded male Toreador model also at Moddb to replace the Gangrel model, since I find the male Tremere's wolflike facial features to be a perfect fit for a Gangrel, but I'd prefer him with long hair. How would one go about making this in Blender?

Do you mean this? https://www.moddb.com/games/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines/addons/sexy-long-hair-female-toreador

That's actually a modded Heather (she shares a body with VV when wearing her underwear) which the creator has tweaked in Blender by making the hair longer.

At the moment, I don'know if there is another way to do it, although someone here managed to swap the heads on the Gangrel armors with their modded one (which in this case was still part of a Gangrel model, which may or may not matter). https://forums.planetvampire.com/bloodlines-modding/how-to-duplicate-mesh-changes/

You might try that method?
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Thanks for the tip, that might be very helpful. Being able to swap models' heads would open up to so many possibilities and possibly breathe some fresh air in the rather stale world of Bloodlines modeling.

And yes, that first link was what I was talking about. Didn't even realize that was actually Heather's model since her face has been edited so heavily, I assumed that was VV since she's in the Vesuvius in the screencap.
