« on: November 21, 2012, 07:14:27 AM »
I just wanted to give a shout out to all those that have contributed to the Clan Quest Mod and any other patches or mods for that matter! I finally got Clan Quest mod to work on my computer and I must say that it is awesome! You've all done a kick ass job with the storylines, voice acting and the like. It has provided me and my friends with so much entertainment.  I salute you all!

Fully agree with you on this thread mods are extremelly time consuming and labors of love. Most peoplle just repond with issues about patches/mods blush including myself.
So yes a big thank you to all who make this great game playable and replayable.

I showed this to BG01 and he was touched. Actually it motivates him back into working for Clan Quest :D

Claudia: Yay, I'm glad! My friends and I have had a lot of fun with this! It makes the game so much more awesome! So much hard work went into it.

Edit: I was actually really impressed by the voice acting, too. It was pretty darn good, better than some of the original voice acting from the Vanilla version, IMO.

i'm very critical and picky when it comes to which mods i play, and clan quest mod is one of the best mods for any game i've ever played. that is a really great accomplishment considering how difficult it is to mod for bloodlines in the first place.

I wouldnt consider playing Bloodlines without CQ again, to be honest.

Cant wait for him to make the next update with the updated unofficial patch :)

I'm a big fan of the Unofficial Plus Patch.  It's what I usually play through.  There's just too many options when I install the CQM.  Honestly, asking me which models I want for a decent portion of the cast is too specific for my tastes.  I have installed the CQM mod tho and am currently playing through as a Ventrue.  We'll see if the easter eggs and extra content win me over.

Like Valamyr, I also don't feel like I want to go back to playing with just the UP installed after playing through CQM a few times and loving it. Particularly the Arsenal mod, which you can install together with CQM, makes the game feel quite different and much harder.

Though I have been meaning to fresh up my German for a while and installing the German version of the UP would let me practice it while having fun at the same time. While looking for way to Germanize VtMB I found out that you can install the German UP with CQM by simply installing the German 7.9 UP over CQM 3.0's 7.9 UP. CQM runs on the English UP of course, but the files are all the same, its just the language that's different. The only thing stopping me from playing a German CQM was that none of the weapons from Arsenal mod showed up after I had installed the German UP over CQM's English one and I really wanted to play with them for my next character, a Ventrue (which I have just finished and have now started a Brujah character).

Unlike Nigama I never thought there were too many options. I looked through them all and then selected the few that I liked (giving Nines new clothes, a new armor for the Ventrue and a new dog-like Gangrel Warform).

When it comes to other mods, The Final Nights mod seems very good, but it'll have to wait until I have played through CQM 3.0 with all of the clans and by that time perhaps a new update to CQM will have been released. I will then want to play through the new version with all clans again :P. Another mod that I'm looking forward to play some day is the Antitribu mod, which is still in progress. As with a new version of CQM, I'm willing to wait as long as it takes for the modders to complete it and get it working right.

To do that, just copy all the item_w_items from the vdata items directory of the CQM+Arsenal Mod somewhere and then copy them back over the original ones, after you have applied the German patch. You will loose the German iweapon descriptions, but nothing else.

To each their own, everybody has different 'tolerance thresholds' for mods. I have nearly 200 mods on my Skyrim install, including half a dozen I've scripted myself, so I have no problems with spending an entire day setting things up for a game I know I'll love, but Im aware that can't be expected of most players.

Nothing available in the Bloodlines community even approaches these numbers, though. The most demanding multi-mod install you could try to set up would still be functional in less than a tenth of that time.

For CQM, it depends on how changelling you want it to be.
When I get lazy, I just install CQM + UP + eventually an arsenal mod or so (I don't notice much difference, really).
When I get all sporty, I get UP plus and CE in it too. And maybe pen and paper (I randomly try stuff though Xd). I once played with companion, but I never actually had a companion with me at all times (and I could never "place" them in the haven, that shit is so off, bleh)

Most skins I could care less about, to be honest.

CQM is, with CE, one of the most user-friendly mods IMO.

Skeleton for a quest hook: a quest (and npc) that deals in 'potencial' (maybe Mr Ox). Idea is that part of the quest would involve draning a non-inconsiderable xp amount from your unspent pool.

Why? Just to shake things up; people like to spend xp as they get it; so this would be a quest that fewer playthroughs would see.
Problem is; the quest reward can't really be XP  :vampwink:
