Has anyone ever addressed this in a mod?  Persuasion is useful in prettymuch every conversation that can be influenced by dialogues and often the only skill that can get the best result. Seduction is usable in about half of them, and intimidation is usable in about a quarter of them.

It's fun to play "flawed" characters but it's obnoxious as a gamer to spend 30 exp raising, say, Intimidate when I could have spent it on Persuasion for a greater amount of reward ( more unique dialogues and better quest results)

I agree. Why spend alot of xp on dominate (as a ventrue) when the same thing can be achieve (sometimes with better results) with persuation?

I would say the opposite: I'd rather have dominate which has awesome dialog outcomes, but also has combat abilities, too. Persuasion is only useful in dialog.

But anyways, game balance issues aside, I think it's kind of indicative of the real world consequences for being persuasive. Generally life presents more opportunities to those that can get along well with others and be persuasive, rather than people that try to coerce others.

It's just a colossal waste of EXP and nothing else.  Must be the powergamer in me that protests so much, but I really don't understand putting points into Persuasion on, say, a Gangrel. Or a Malkavian.


Seriously when it comes to the malkavian too.  People are just glad the malk didnt suddenly decide to take a straight razor to their face when a malk is finished in conversation.

Cute,

I happen to agree with you that the three social skills are a bit unbalanced and is something I plan on addressing in TFN. Right now Persuasion is trump in dialogue hands down, Seduction has a little weight in dialogue but acts better for gaining easy blood (in CE). Intimidation doesn't really stand a chance against either of these as far as XP is concerned. When I re-write the dialogue for the new 7
clans I plan on adding more benefit to Intimidation to balance things out.

I think there is another problem with persuasion. As long as it's linked with scholarship, it will be the preferred option, even if you can acchieve the same results with seduction or intimidation. That's because you need scholarship anyway to read all the powerup books.

I''d be happy if intimidation was good for the prepackaged clanns! and seduction was good for more than comedy value with Chunk. 

Speaking of TFN...  Will it have the Clanquest content?   I mean, new quests (voiced no less) prettymuch trumps all in terms of value for me with a game this old... I could never give up more damsel!

If burermeister was willing to work with us on incorporating some of his quest ideas into TFN I would be more than willing to talk about it. His Redspot Quest and a few others would fit very well in TFN.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

yeah i did something like that, I got the idea after playing Dragon Age, the Intimidation was Awesome in that game, and it really scared off enemies.
this is what i did, at some scenarios, with the new Intimidation system for Bloodlines Antitribu, though its actually really hard and time consuming you will be able to flee off some enemies with intimidation.  just as it is in DAO.
