Naive noob question about Resurgence
« on: November 07, 2012, 04:16:54 PM »
Hey all,

I wanted to know how much coding experience do I need to have to design my own levels with Resurgence? I have soooo many great ideas(like many others on the boards, I'm sure) and would love to create characters and levels for everyone's enjoyment. thanks.

I don't think Resurgence will be released anytime soon, but burgermeister showed with the new library level for the Unofficial Patch that designing new stuff is possible already for the original Bloodlines using the recently released SDK :)!

Thank you for replying. Ok, I will look into that. I thought some version of Resurgence was already out; I guess what I've read so far is that you guys are still working on it.

Resurgence requires a coding from the ground up for all the rules, interactivity and so on, of the main game. Once it's done, technically all you need is the Hammer Editor for new maps. (For quests you might need python)

Cheers

You certainly need python for quests, or any kind of action. Plus a good text editor for dialogs. And if you want to do it right, voice actors and someone to create the lip files.

Does anyone know if Resurgence is still in development anyway? And if it really is, when it may be released?

This is how it works with the original Bloodlines now. Download the SDK and then create maps with Hammer :)!

I'd put money on "never"
