My Haven in Chinatown style
« on: September 17, 2019, 01:05:28 PM »
Greetings, Kindred!
So, after some time I was able to finally complete my complex idea and decided to release this creation into the light...

Here is a certain attempt to make the protagonist's Haven as suitable as possible under the den of a strong Kindred. It used to be a seedy room, but I tried to do something more (and I hope that I managed to convey this feeling).

At the moment, this is just a map that is not tied to any particular level, but I want to wait for the release of the 10.5+ patch and try to connect it to the "Red Dragon".

If you imagine this map as part of the game, then I would explain it this way:
Wong Ho can give our protagonist this Haven as a reward if:
- the protagonist will save Zhao’s life, as well as find secret information in the Fu Syndicate that Wong Ho is on the black list of Min Xiao, as well as the protagonist will convince Wong Ho to leave Chinatown so that Xiao will not be able to kill him...

Of course, I can dream a little that my creation will be able to fit into the UP, but ... most likely, this will not happen.

Installation:
- The map was created on the basis of patch 10.2+ (since the map is not tied to other levels, I hope that it can work on other versions)
- Add the "maps" folder to "Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines \ Unofficial_Patch"
- From the initial game menu, type in the map ch_haven_1 console
- That's it, now you are at home!

I want to express my gratitude to Argikt and Wesp5!

Very nice mapping there! That's less a haven but rather a complete penthouse :). I don't think it would fit into the UP though, but if somebody ever made a direct sequel to Bloodlines this is where I imagine the player if Nines and Isaac made them Baron of Chinatown in the Anarch ending. Two minor bugs: you can move through the secret switch vases and the door handles on the main door are backside to front!

The map is very well crafted. Could be used in a sequel as Wesp said (very good idea).
If you modiffy the Red dragon map to merge it, could be used over UP (while Wesp don't change anything on this map),
Adding like an stand alone map in the Up will be more complicated to do and the "life" of this mod will be shorter.

No, it actually occurred to me when I tested the map. I'm busy thinking about how to save whatever remains from the Prelude if the others do not come back!

Thats a nice haven. Unfortunately, I never managed to save Zhao so far. And where can you find proof, that Ming Xiao wants to get rig of Wong Ho? I played that game about 30 times and never noticed that

Thanks! I will definitely fix it. But, I did not understand you a little about the mistake with the vases - I needed to configure them differently?!
In fact, I tried to make the vases play the role of a lever and open the door. I tried to make it so that the player opened the door only through interaction with the vases.
If this seems uncomfortable, I can simply remove them and make opening the doors easier...

Of course, there is another vase in the beginning. Forgive me for such a ridiculous idea - but this vase on the table serves as a mailbox (the usual mailbox somehow did not fit into the interior). DDD

I liked your idea with the opportunity to become the Baron of Chinatown - it seems to me that you could implement this idea together with burgermeister01!!
(I heard that he was going to continue the story for the Anarchs, but I do not know how true these rumors are.)
And I really hope that you will be able to complete the "Prelude"!

All thanks to your advice and videos! I am very pleased that there are such good people here who are ready to share their experience and knowledge!

I will try to do this, but first I need to fix some errors...

I agree that it’s not so easy to save Zhao, but this is just one of the options why the protagonist can get this haven...
You can also suggest your version =)
Since the further answer to your question will be a spoiler, I will hide it.
Spoiler for Hiden:
1. When you are in Fu Syndicate, you can find and crack a certain door with a lockpicks.
2. Indoors, you will find a katana and a book there, as well as what you came here for - computer.
3. After you hack the mail, you will come across a letter: "RE: Progress Report". Read it and you will all know. =)

You need to set their stands to solid, right now you can move right through them :)!

Where do you heard this? Anyone else heard something similar?

I didn't mail burger since 3 months ago, but he didn't tell me something about it...

I email regularily with him and he never said something like this. On the contrary, the last time we talked about this he was looking into other engines like Unity or Unreal 4, because of Bloodlines 2!

In fact, I did not even notice this. And it looks like I will have to redo this place... or... maybe you know how to make "prop_button" use the "Use VPhysics" parameter or make this vase solid?! Tell me, please!

I wondered how to proceed at first and I never figured out the bit with the mailbox ;).

I understand that this is a rather unusual way to stuff a parcel into a vase... and why not? DDD

I’m sorry, I just read it once in one of the Russian communities, where the author of the article wrote that:
"Perhaps the authors of the mod will release someday
plot for anarchs "Anarch Edition".
So I thought that what if it happens?!... sorry for my naivety...

So, I managed to find the necessary information on the author’s YouTube channel... Thanks Soilie!

"XOR101:
I also always thought the way you 'side' with the Anarchs didn't really do them justice. The idea of "Anarch Edition" mod has certainly crossed my mind before, but after everything I'm doing to get CQM 4.0 out with the Sabbat chapter, I think I need to take a break, hah."

(Below under the comments on the this video).
Spoiler for Hiden:

---
But now I am very sad that this part will not be released.

So I will look forward to the release of the 10.5+ patch in order to be able to adapt my map to it (I will not promise anything, but if I have the inspiration and opportunity, I will probably try to make some clan Haven, maybe even this Haven will be in Vesuvius and serve as an exclusive for the Toreador clan. Or I will use the idea of Barabbah and I will make a heaven in Tauni’s apartment ...).
