I sincerely thank you for this video. Of course, the red inscription sometimes made it difficult to see the details, but if I understood correctly, then I can copy and remake one of the levels of Ming Xiao in the same way... more precisely, I can copy from there one fragment where there are railings that I need...

Why not recycling a whole map after its use on the main story? For an example, I had this idea to make Tawni's apartment available as a haven in Hollywood after her quest is complete....

Oh, if you think so...
Tauni’s apartment is a good idea, however, for some reason I thought about Vesuvius when  the protagonist came to Hollywood. I would suggest that Vivi could give us refuge (for example, you could make it an exclusive for the Toreador).
But who would give  Tauni’s apartment to he protagonist... Imalia ?! Maybe... (one could do this without interfering with the dialogue, but just send an email and that's it).

For some reason, it seems to me that in this way it will be possible to create some kind of mini-mod on the haven...

Try OBS Studio, it may be a bit complicate at first but as an free open source recording program is the best program I've ever used for recording videos. Pure perfection.

OBS Studio - I use it myself. Really like!
I don’t care about the quality of the video, the main thing is that this person tried and recorded a video on how to copy parts from a map (I’m a little surprised that not one of the knowledgeable modders has created a “modern” map-building guide, so I am very grateful to Argikt for this video.)
-------------------------------------------------------

Questions that still remain with me ...
  - How to rotate objects?
  - If I want to make the walls myself manually - how can I combine them or make it all work ?!

It was just a general suggestion for whenever you will need to record other videos in the future :vampwink:

While playing or testing bloodlines, the nvida tool allows me to record (without limits) that's the tool that I used to upload the videos here. Sadly don't work while mapping...

If you tried the map that I uploaded, you can see is dirty and empty, but there is no secret filling it with furniture, just a tedious work. Also the door would looks like better with a frame.

The way that I did it don't break any mod and could be compatible with any mod that don't change this map. (I used the companion mod map), so I think that you can use it with any major mod (except war games, of course).
A change in scripts will need testing, because you can overwrite some quest_file or python, and break another thing... Same for using any ingame item (like keys).

Welcome to the hardcoded!!

It will be some time before I can complete my unusual idea, but I already like how it looks.
Of course, this is far from ideal, but I will try to make this the haven interesting.

Spoiler for Hiden:
This is part of the second floor where I plan to make a room for the protagonist. At the moment I made only a corridor... the room is still in the process..

Looks like interesting.
Make more sense (for me) having a haven in red dragon than Zhao's.
Mapping is funny.. at the beginning... but you will hate it when you start working on circular surfaces... muahahaha

Good work! I will like to try it when will be done!

If I can edit maps I'll remove the 2nd and 3rd warren maps from the main story and rework the Bertram CD quest from these and the Hollywood sewer doors (or any other new quest). Maybe I'll add to the mix that unused map in the Argikt mod for Clan Quest....

Hello again.
I got, perhaps, to the most difficult. Lighting ... Therefore, I again turn to you for advice.
What should I do with the light so that the corridor does not look so dull?! (Or am I mistaken and it is better to leave it like that ?!)
As for the green-blue walls - I have not yet found a better option, so they remain as they are (I could make them white, but it would look boring).

For general convenience, I made a spoiler..

Spoiler for Hiden:

Continuation of the "Red Dragon" - perhaps this will turn into the 3rd floor =)
So far I have made a corridor, ahead of the construction of rooms. And I will wait for your answers regarding the correction of light ... (I wrote a post about this above).
I hope you can help me figure out when you get this opportunity.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Avadonica!

Lighting is a test , error and repeat task...
I saw the pics and I think that you don't use a skybox or your corridor is out of the skybox limits...
I'm not sure without play or open the map in hammer.
The editor offers differents light options, focused light, ambient,  "sunlight", etc...

Can you send me the map to play it?

Ok, I'll do it when I finish the rest of the map =)
Maybe I just didn’t add the “sun” in the skybox or something like that ... I'll try to fix it.

If you don't mind me saying... I very much looking forward to this. It seems amazing.

If you do release it, how would it be installed into the game?

Most likely it will be something like: "insert this map in the desired folder and run it through the console." I don’t know how to do installers and things like that...
Or someone, someday (if at all possible) will include this creation in one of their mods...
But I will not rush into this issue, since all the work is still in progress. =)
I will continue to throw off screenshots of the process here, maybe someone else will share their experience and useful tips.

So, I have a new problem... TV.
I saw how everything works, but I can’t understand how I can connect the “TV presenter’s room” with the TV screen. All my attempts to do this ended in breaking the map.
Perhaps one of you can explain to me how to do it right...
Thank you in advance!
