Didn't change it, juste copy and paste.

Looks good, so your card item is still the same as used in this script or the gum one?

My card item is item_w_claws_protean4, with card description and appearance like in this script, i use the same item for the gum script too, and Copper did "misteake" a card for gums. Gonna try to change it because i don't see what else could be wrong.

Edit: ok, done. I puted the gum data into item_p_research_lg_firearms, made the change on sm_pier_1 and Copper dlg. Don't know if it will solve the problem in the library, have to test it.

Remember me saying:
Seriously, the maps are probably the worst part of modding this game.

I was wrong, the worst part is testing, having to start new games, even in god mod and noclip, is really tiresome for the brain.

Edit 2: Made a quick test by teleporting a new character to the library map and the result is still the same. I could unhide the secret switch on the map file directly but that feels wrong.

Ah, a modder in learning making all the discoveries what is evil about modding bloodlines... :taunt:

Let me add some more reasons for cursing... :cometome:
- dialog editing
-keeping track of global variables
-python syntax
... the list is endless. ;)

It's working! I feel like a moron, i used the library computer in CE final edition, the ramdom password system was the issue. Replaced the file with the one from UP and voila.

In fact, i used library files from CE because i didn't manage to restore the hidden Lasombra in the Junkyard at first. So it is Andrei that shows up in "my" library. Voiceacting is different from Andrei yes but maybe it's because he is afraid to get his ass wipe. I know a little better now and could give a other shot at the Lasombra but i am just too leazy right now.

So, i didn't really think i would manage before a new CQM comes out but yet. Gotta do a last test from the game beginning to be sure everything works as it should.

 Do i have your permission,Wesp and Malkav, to share my handy work if anyone is interested? Should i email Burgermeister, since he rarely come around here?

Oh and thanks for the encouraging words Malkav.

Be my guest. Of course you have my permission to publish your work. Just make a note which features from CE you have used and give credit where necessary.
I'm also interested in what exactly you have done. If you need help testing or proofreading scripts, send me a pm.

As for burger, you should definitely contact him if you have used things from Clan Quest.

Good luck, and it's really good to see that more people are interested in modding bloodlines. :smile:

I just sent a email to Burgermeister.

I ran into a problem with python code in downtown:

if(G.Library_Open == 1):
        library_hatch = Find("library_hatch")
        library_hatch.ScriptUnhide()

This script, under:
#DOWNTOWN: hide/unhide npcs, changed by wesp
def SetNPCs():
    SetTinCanBill()
    SetIgor()
    SetPatty()
    SetHeather()
    SetGangs()
    SetBumsTalk()
    SetBeckettTalk()
    SetStopSign()
    UnsetCDC()
    UnsetCabbie()
    SetNinesCutscene()
    SetVentrueExplosion()
    SetRat()

 is suppose to unhide the sewer-library hatch once you received the first email from Beckett, however in my case, it stop the "nines save your ass from Sabbat" cutscene to trigger and downtown map don't load the first time you go there.

If i remove it, the scene trigger and the map load normally, so i worked around the problem by unhide the switch in La_hub_1, so it is always visible. The player just has to know he is not supposed to go to library before receiving email from Beckett.

Good luck, and it's really good to see that more people are interested in modding bloodlines. :smile:

I am interested in modding but i don't have much imagination, neither do i have deep WOD knowledge, apart from Redemption, Bloodlines and what i read occasionally on the internet. I spoted some things i can train to do during this litlle adventure, guess i will start there.

Hm, the code is ok. If I get you right, the IF structure is part of the setNPCs function. So it probably is one of these issues:
-it might be an indentation error. Make sure the if line has the same indentation depth as the other function calls, and the two lines that belong to the if condition are one level deeper.
-Maybe G. isn't defined for this function and it causes a runtime error that prevents the rest of the function being executed. In that case, either add a line G = __main__.G as the first line of the function, or change every G to __main__.G

In any case, if you run into problems that might be caused by python, check the console. Once you're used to all the usual error messages, you can see if there is a syntax or runtime error in a function you have edited.

Indentation error, you are right, a simple level down between SetRat() and if(G.Library_Open == 1): solved the problem. Everything works good now.

Many thanks Malkav.

Waiting for Burgmeister answer. Do you guys know where i could upload my modified files, about 280mo?

For uploading files, usually I use GameFront. You can also create an account on ModDB and upload it there. Strategy informer might also be interested. I'm not sure about uploading things of this size here on PV.

Gamefront seem easy so i will use that. Sent a other email to Burgermeister earlier, in case he didn't receive the first one. Maybe he is like me and doesn't check his mails very often.

He probably received it, read it, flagged it as "gotta answer this", and then went on to flip a table :D

I'll catch him on IM later today and poke him a little about it :)

Just to make it clear: You want to release an updated Clan Quest Mod that just adds the library map?

Yes. Library map and the quest that goes with it.

To be more precise, i looked at your work and Malkav's one, then i modified CQM 3.01 files with CE 1.4 installed, so that library can be played with it.
