Latest Unoffical Patch ruined Blood Boil visuals

With the new update, blood boil isn't working right, or maybe this was a design decision but I don't like how blood sprites replace the blood decal texture after enemy bodies blow up.

I used to enjoy painting the room red now it doesn't happen anymore. Anyway to fix this without having to revert to older patches?

I looked at the original particle and remembered that this is a very old fix to get rid of the randomly spawning bullet holes instead of blood in the first place.

The problem was it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, so we took the safe route and changed it completely. But I will take another look today like if I can make the sprites stay longer ;)...

Thank you! Your work is highly appreciated! I just finished making my own "improved" blood mod, but I don't want to release it YET since blood boil is a bit underwhelming now. If there's a workaround with this, I'll release my mod ASAP :)

I was going to ask you the same, as whatever I do, most of the times I get bullet holes. I could prolong the sprites to stay, but then they would suddenly disappear all together which looks weird. Real decals disappear whenever their maximum number is reached one by one so it's not that obvious.

I don't think so. As far as I remember this was already a random bug in the original game, otherwise I wouldn't have fixed it.

Inside the bloodexplosion_spatter file under /particles

I changed:
 
collide
   {
      decal
      {
      particle    "D_ThaumaturgyHit_GroundSplats"      // changed by wesp

   }


to

                }


Then I deleted the disciplinetgt_004 txt file under /vdata/system

and this FIXED IT, but of course, I have no idea of the repercussions of this other than "fixing" the blood boil visuals.

from the vanilla file, this fixed it all for me, decal textures appear after bloodboil painting the walls and ground. This is also a better fix for me since I barely touch your files that are responsible for balancing and fixes.

Update: I have followed your lead and narrowed it down to d_thaum_bld_cauldron_explode_tgt_emitter. This mustn't be called from the discipline file because it is called from the exlosion itself. Remove this and revert the decals and everything is fine!
