I, for one, second Claudia's motion. I've had a whole separate thread going on email with Wesp about it, so I'm not really going to reiterate it here.

But anyways, as far as mods go, I couldn't care less what people do. I just don't feel like it's really appropriate for the patch to have such a major change. It's ultimately up to Wesp, since the patch is his child, but he kind of sets the bar for everyone else, and since I distribute the patch in CQM, which is my child, I am somewhat forced to have an opinion on the matter.

Anyways, it's one of my favorite parts of the game, and as Claudia puts it, making the Werewolf mortal by conventional means 'takes out the charm of the enemy'. The whole sequence wouldn't be the same if I spent the first five minutes I was playing fruitlessly trying to beat the hell out of this badass werewolf.

We have the problem that a patch isn't a mod. It'sjust not that easy, anda.

Wesp, I love your work, but this is "artistic differences", and since it brings debate, it means it's not a.. patch :-(

I know the PC is badass, he's a hero, but come on, let's draw the line <_<


I know the Garou is Hispo because, yes, he's faster. The fact that it's the same model used is just that the programmers of the game were lazy and didn't want us to think about what are the werewolves (it's true kindred usually meet the garou in crinos form).

Just let it be killable with the observatory, because blind brute force against a werewolf sounds just wrong. You gotta outsmart the damn thing.



edit : I forgot : Crinos usually don't run on four legs, while Hispo do.

This change falls under the category of 'modding' rather than 'patching'. I agree with leaving it out of the UP, although putting in the Plus variant would be reasonable. Rather than freak out about it though, let Lenuska finish it and then start making an informed decision. It's a little premature yet.

Pretty cool this is actually possible though, I remember this being one of the first things Antitribu wanted to put in way back.

I think I got the latest solution from Lenuska and I can't see on how it can easily be improved. I will wait until tomorrow for the poll.

Yeah, I wanted to have this in the Unofficial Patch years ago, which is one reason why I am so happy to finally make it come true!

I could make it an extra option, but I don't really want to do that. I'd prefer that there's some homogeneity between the patches and mods, or at least minimize the number of these one-off differences. Trying to maintain this buffet style mod installer isn't really sustainable as people keep coming up with new stuff. So, when I have a big creative difference with the patch-creating trend-setter, I can't help but express myself at least = )

Personally, I quite like the idea of the werewolf being vulnerable. But it has to be a really tough fight. Not a stroll in the park, like the bloodhunt or storming the temple and the tower...
Should make fighting Andrei, Ming, and the Sheriff in both forms at the same time like playing with a litter of kittens.

If I don't want to kill the werewolf with my uberpowered badass fighting skills, then I can just do it the smart way (dropping the oneliner "I have a crush on you" while doing so, lol). Other people who, like me, like to play with the plus patch, but don't want this added should of course say so, but they can just ignore that option. It's not like that option will force itself on them if they want to do it that way, but I can still see their point of "why add it in the first place?".

Yep, I'm a sucker for puns/bad jokes, as my user name shows. It's nice with some positive feedback between feeding and scheming.

I also like the German language (I'm Swedish), so it's doubly nice that someone with a German nickname (unless it's supposed to mean "master of hamburgers" instead of mayor) acknowledges my pun.

Dude, I love Schwarzenegger movies, almost exclusively for the horribly cheesy one liner quips. 'Stick around!', after throwing a hatchet into someone's torso, lol.
The awful Batman movie may have taken it too far, though.

As for what's in the name, I later learned after actually taking German in high school the true meaning of burgermeister, but before that it's a reference to an obscure American sitcom. If you can figure out which one, you win a prize!
