I work at 2K as well.  I find it the best size to work at for this game. Some textures are so tiny and blurry! Sadly in many otherwise nice mods, too.

The bracelets are supposed to "fit" on the arm like this:

(it's the actual texture I worked from) But yeah, it needs to be wider to wrap around the arms more and look less like a tattoo...problem is, as usual, the mapping, because it starts distorting.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

(I realized a little while ago I could have just...looked at the files of the mods of yours I'm using ^^;;) It always perplexes me! I find 2K textures work quite smoothly in the game.

Ha! I almost added that image to my post to ask if that was what you had in mind. :)

I've spent many hours playing with textures to find where things lie. Look at the mess that ends up a straight seam on Heather's legs! I make a lot of "templates," solid shapes on separate layers to show where things work, so if I'm adding something like the bracelet, I can see how to stretch and reshape it. I think you can get the bracelets to work if you want to play around with things.

I know one can paint directly on the model using Blender, which might help a problem like this, but you need a different version than the one used for working with models, according to everything I've seen. Icicle had a really good thread about it. And you'd also need the time and inclination to LEARN for just this kind of problem. Which...

Oh, I know how utterly frustrating the mapping can be in this game!  Things distorting, or when pants/skirts are mapped on two separate areas of the texture and you have to get them to match without visible seams...I had this issue both with my retextured PC and with Nines.

I am afraid of Blender.  Following this tutorial I found, I couldn't even get it to load my models, let alone anything else. And I have almost 0 experience working with it so I prefer sticking to what I know...

That Heather texture is looking good though! :D Would love to see the rest.

As for the bracelet...I might try to get it to coil around the arms, but it's going to be a BITCH to get all the pieces to fit together...

Oh, I don't blame you! Just fooling around to get the hang of it was so damn tedious and confusing as hell even with clear tutorials at hand. It's just not worth it unless you have the eye and patience for it. Though I do wish I was able to fix all the giant blocky hands some NPCs have.

Wow, thank you! It's part of a larger project I'm dragging my feet on. Working on texture packs and small details is more satisfying for me. I'm proud of how this one's coming out, though, so knowing at least one person wants to see more is gratifying! :D

Thanks, I will look at that. :) Hopefully the mapping is similar!

This started out as a personal request I made for somebody which then evolved in a study in bummap/envmask creation and just how much I could improve this rather low-res model. Still a WIP

You all know that dancer with the huge pigtails and the latex top. Now the latex actually looks like latex, the belt and buckles shine and have bumps, the pigtails have feathered ends, and the face looks a bit more...human.  :chinscratch:

Thanks again to vampire_nonsense for sharing those very useful links about enabling bumpmaps/envmasks!

This looks great! Whenever I look at her (and the other flat-faced monstrosities) I cry inside.

Thank you!

I decided to tackle the Gimp next; gave him a new skin (that sounds weird), new pants, and of course SHINY! gloves boots and mask.

Looks so good. Bloodlines's atmosphere is one of its greatest strengths, and the clubs have so much of it. I love seeing that enhanced like this. :)

Thanks, guys. Hopefully I can release these as a pack once I've retextured the other goth kids.
