That is some good ideas for the claws there too. I like that method better than what I was going to do, as the other claws just look odd on the warform. I am definitely going to try that lol.

And yep, you can use it as well lol.

I don't know if the Discipline could allow it, but would having a more feminine version of the model be possible? If I could find the file for Protean, I could see if adding a line to specify a model for male and female is possible.

I think that would be a good idea if it is possible. I always play as female myself, being a female lol.

I tried looking through all the vdata system files, as I've seen a few of the disciplines in there, but I couldn't find anything like that for Protean...
I really don't have any experience yet with modding this game indepth other than skins/models but I have a feeling that that might be hardcoded in.

Does anyone with more experience with the game have a definite answer on that?

It would be great if it did allow it as making another version of the model would be easy enough.

I remember, awhile back, I write a script that I never used that would change the protean model/skin based on what armor you're wearing when you activate the ability. If I still have said script, and it works as well as I remember it working, then it might be possible to tailor it to gender. I'll look around tonight when I get off of work.

Okay, so it's a bit of a hack, but then again ... what isn't when it comes to VtmB modding?

1. You have to add the following entity to EVERY damn map. Sorry, but it's the only way, I know of, to register something when the player uses protean:


{
"classname" "events_player"
"targetname" "playercontroller"
"enabled" "1"
"origin" "-7.74472 539.688 45"
"OnActivateProtean" ",,,0,-1,GangrelModel(),"
}


Of course, if there is already an events_player entity in the map, just add the OnActivateProtean attribute to it, rather than adding another entity.


2. Then add this script to vamputil.py


def GangrelModel():
    pc = __main__.FindPlayer()

    model_male = "models/character/pc/path/to/male/model"
            
    model_female = "models/character/pc/path/to/female/model"


   
    if(pc.IsMale()):
        new_model = model_male
    else:
        new_model = model_female
   
   
    __main__.FindPlayer().SetModel(new_model)








And I think that's the whole story.

Oh yes... I've been watching that one for years now.. back when it was still Bloodlines Revival lol.
Whenever that gets finished, I'll definitely be making models for scratch for Vampire. I have a few half-finished werewolf models lying around as it is, for a project that died years ago lol.

I think we all gotta support the resurgence mod as much as possible so it gets done asap. Once that comes out we can mod the s*** outta this game.

They just need coders to implement python and all the other Troika-added stuff. The graphics are not important at this point in time (all the models have already been decompiled).

The thing we need the most is a working implementation of the vanilla Bloodlines. Modding can come afterward. The original game isn't a classic for nothing.

If I had ANY modding skills, I'd join their team to support it to the fullest. But unfortunately I dont got the time to learn a damn thing now adays.
