Fixing the ingame cutscenes.
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:44:52 pm »
What would it take to fix/improve the cutscenes in the game? Specific examples would be things like e.g. the PC and Nines cutscene in Griffon Park, Mercurio crawling up to his apartment, PC, LaCroix and Becket first interaction (the PC does not turn to face LaCroix when he starts yelling at the PC).

Iirc, I've seen mention in other threads this can be done? I'm guessing most of the current member modders are busy on other projects. If we knew what it would it would take to fix maybe we could recruit more modders to fix it?

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

Nines', Skelter's, and Damsel's freezing when they walk out of the auditorium in the opening cutscene.^

That's the one I always notice, and it annoys the hell out of me that they didn't fix it in the original release. It's not exactly the most subtle or deep-into-the-game glitch.

I think that has something to do with the censorship that was implemented into the killing of your sire scene that fucked ythe whole thing

I didn't make much mention of it, but I 'fixed' the Griffith park cut scene by just taking it out completely.  As for those other scenes, you can make some changes, but not everything. As you probably know, you can't really edit the animations. You can reuse existing ones, or remove them, but you can't add new ones. You can manipulate the camera and the camera angles, and the camera timing. You know I've done some stuff with cut scenes, and it's tedious work to say the least.

It's interesting how after freeing lily that animation before you talk to vandal is in first person.

If you could find a way to disable mouse camera movement (make it follow the x-y vector of of the animation), it would be a effective way to hide the other animations weirdness (though it would be weird, having the camera mode changing involuntarily).
