                VTMB CompMod enhances Vampires The Masquerade Bloodlines by allowing you to recruit other NPCs to join your party and travel with you throughout the game. Other party centric enhancements include:
 
 - Ability to embrace some select NPCs later in the game.
 - Ability to possess your traveling companions and use their special abilities from afar (if desired).
 - Place party members around your haven in an assortment of animated poses
 - Tell party members to change outfits. (supports installable outfit packs)
 - Access to secondary traveling inventory through companion dialog.
 
 The mod is approaching the end of development. This may be your last chance to be part of the Beta Tester team, so come download the latest Beta now (Version 0.4)

 Improved Companion AI:
 ----------------------------------
 - Companions no longer attack humans that you force feed on outside of combat. (dark alley opportunities)
 - When you tell a companion to "stay", they no longer go hostile or attack nearby enemies if you enter combat.
 - Fixed stealth bug where companions who were told to stay would begin following you again if combat started while you were in stealth.
 
 New Companions\Embrace Options:

 - Damsel Companion Option now active
 - Yukie Companion/Embrace Option now active (Complete with new conversations and dialogs)
 
 Bug Fixes
 --------------------------------------------------
 - Fixed bug where "Change Outfit" would not always show up in dialog.
 - All party companions now appear in Santa Monica apartment at end of game so that you can select who you wish to take on the final mission(s).

  •                 Sweet, I'll give the new version a try. Will I need a fresh install or can I just install over v0.3?
     
     I also noticed that when posessing henchman other than heather in 0.3 the game keeps trying to load
     "models\character\npc\average_vampire_hunter\average_vampire_hunter.mdl" which does not exist in the VPKs, I made a workaround by duplicating the model into the search folder and that worked but if I possess a different henchman it loads the same model.. IE. I possess say Junkie_Girl and unposess and it trys to load average_vampire_hunter.mdl instead of Junkie_Girl.mdl, its the same with all the slaves (non willing companions) so the workaround is only an option if you only have one slave. I will test it with a model I havn't modded though, it could be my modded models bugging it. I replaced the models of all the NPCs I used the creature thing on...
     
     [edit2] Ah, it has something to do with your VCLAN BUG FIX script I think and likely my edited models. I'll look into it more. I don't know anything about python scripting though so I won't be much help there.
     
     I will also check with the new version.
     nope, same problem with 0.4. It seems that its only models that I have replaced however. Prostitutes retain their model when unpossessed as do other NPCs, but any that I have changed the model of try to load vamp hunter when unpossessed.
     
     [edit]Dude, if you like I could make a section for your mod on my forums and give you moderator rights, that way you can have a place for bug reports and stuff. I can even give you access to my FTP so you can upload without having cutoff dates and the like. Let me know.

                    If I play as a Brujah I like to be in character so I like to give the Prince
     a hard time, even at the cost of losing the apartment.  If I'm mean to the
     Prince will I lose out on being able to embrace?

                    if you type "vclan #" in console, you change clans. Problem is some clans dont have a model associated with them and they try to load the VampierHunter by default.
     
     Problem happens when you are on a map that doesn't have a vampirehunter on it. The game engine doesn't load models into memory unless they are needed by your local map. And if vclan tries to load a model that is not in memory, the game crashes to desktop.
     
     Possession uses the vclan command. So.. when you enter a map, python creates a "Fake" Vampire hunter (hidden mind you) so when you possess, the game doens't crash.
     
     Are you daying that the fix is causing problems? Or just creating error/warning messages?

                    Well, when I try possess junkie_girl then unpossess her I get that annoying "model missing" and when I check the console it tells me its the vamp hunter model it could not find. So yeah, I think its the fix thats causing it. Some models work fine, others give the error. Junkie girl is still the original game model however, not one of my edited models so the problem is an actual bug, not something I caused. Maybe its some internal code from within the model file that causes the problem... Also, if I reset the companions all the companions respawn at the haven but I still have the model missing tag-along. Effectively creating a duplicate using a null model where there shouldn't be one.
     
     OS  - XP 64 SP2 (english)
     RAM - 2GB
     HDD - 400GB free
     GFX - Geforce 8600gt with latest drivers

                    If you can replicate the bug, could you cause the problem and then grab the console output and email it to me. I know my code pretty well, so if the error is coming from my stuff, I will know what it is immediatly. Also let me know what map you are in when it happens so I can try to replicate.
     
     Have you messed with clandoc000.txt before or after you installed the mod? Possession relys on the clans I setup in that file. Now in theory, you should be able to change the models the standard clans use, but adding or removing clans (in any of the files) will definitely break everything.
     
     Messing with the VampireHunter model might also cause problems, but I can't imagine why.

                    Beta 4 Patch 1 is released. The issue was a spacing problem in my code. Some variables were in the wrong scope. Anyway, bug is fixed and patch is available at website. Thx for the heads up.
     
     Unpack patch to VTMB Base directory on top of Beta4. Note, it will stop the problem from happening, but it wont correct companions that the problem has already happened to.  If you have a save game with no "Missing" companions, you should be fine.
     
     Retail Typical Base Directory:
     
     C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines
     
     Steam Typical Base Directory:

                    Please help me, i always want to play with companion, but i have some troubles. I done quest with Yukie, she join with me, but i travel to some location (red dragon,lotus, cloud, fulab...) and game crashes, some location ( hub, ramen, temple...)work normaly . Perhaps, i do something wrong.

                    You may post a link to the website.
     Do not post the Beta 4 archive file. I do not want the beta spreading because it has problems.
