Combat music volume
« on: September 21, 2019, 03:15:09 am »
I have successfully replaced the default combat music with an instrumental of "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed. Plays fine, but the volume is very low. I cannot find a .txt in schemes to raise the volume. Anybody got an idea where I can adjust this? Wesp?

Have you thought of increasing the volume of the song file itself? If you have you any kind of audio editor like audacity try to use the amplify filter and experiment a little....

Then where did you look?
Every soundscheme is built like this:
Code: [Select]
Combat
{
"Filename" "music/Dangerous_Places_Combat.mp3"  //placeholder until compressed sound files are available
"Volume" "50"
"NoPause" "0" // added by wesp
}

So you open the soundscheme file for every place you want to change the music, and edit the path and volume. Keep the NoPause entry or the music will continue playing when you open the character editor and clash with the char editor music.
Or did you just replace one soundfile with another one. In that case Barabbah's solution is the easier one.

Yeah, I just replaced the track. I tried raising the volume in Audacity, but it metatags the file and the game stops reading it. It's okay, just put the original file back in from backup. Not that big a deal.

Weird, never had this problem. Try another tool to remove tags....
